The Good Old Days

I think I was born in the wrong era. I love the old time recipes and the old time way. Of course, I wouldn't give up electricity or my washer and dryer, but there are a few things to be said about the good old days. For instance, recipes made from scratch
are the best. I even like to have a garden every now and then and have fresh ingredients for my dishes. It is also fun to can-from tomatoes to muscudines to figs to beef stew, the labor is worth the results!
Growing up in the city, I could only read the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and dream of a log cabin and meals made from scratch. When I married, I married a country boy that grew up on the things I dreamed of trying. It didn't take long to learn how to make
things the way the old timers used to and it has blossomed from there. I have several recipes that have been passed down generations and I am collecting more. Oh! The good old days-wish I'd been there, but making the best of the new year!
