World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2014
I too was very disappointed with this recipe. For me though it was too sweet and I only added half the sugar. I didn't care for the tomato paste flavor either. The ricotta mixture was bland. Hmmm, going back to my old recipe!

So good. Oh so good. I literally couldn't stop eating these fattening little buttery crunchy gooey treats. Oh yum.

I gave this cake two stars because it was fairly easy to make and was edible. Keep looking there are better recipes for cake.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
I gave this five stars even tho I changed it a bit. I used 50/50 apple sauce grape seed oil and 50/50 white & brown sugar. I'm sure it would have been five stars as written because it was delicious. Dangerously so. I skipped the frosting b/c I didn't have cream cheese, just mixed some flour, sugar in the raw, cinnamon and melted butter and dabbed it on the top. Then I sprinkled the tiny remains from the walnut (didn't have pecans) chopping on that. Added a little more cinnamon and I added nutmeg.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

I love this recipe with some changes. Music_minx suggestions are better. I also use a few dashes of poultry seasoning. Great base recipe.

Chicken in a Pot

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2013
Good but not good enough to keep in the recipe rotation. In fact, my husband told me the recipe wasn't worth keeping at all. I think you could skip the bread crumbs all together since they turn to mush and add only empty calories. The flavor was just ok and I added red wine to the sauce too. Other than that I made exactly to the recipe.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
This is a fantastic crust. I've started using unsalted butter but shorting worked well too. I have also subbed a half cup of flour with whole wheat for a chicken pot pie and it was excellent. Made apple berry pie with this and making a pumpkin tomorrow. Love this crust!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
I think this recipe is well written as is. Sure you can brown the meat and yadda, yadda yadda. For me, the point is slow cooker, put in the ingredients, turn on, walk away. I have three children mind you. I could see adding a splash (half a cup or so) of red wine if I had a bottle open but other than that I'm sticking to this yummy, hearty, comforting stew recipe. I cut back to a half stock of celery for personal preference. Left overs were wonderful too!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
Delicious! I maybe shouldn't rate this five stars b/c I did alter it ever so slightly. I almost halved the white sugar and gently packed the brown sugar. It was plenty since I used Fuji apples. Also, I added much less water, merely a heavy sprinkling and it was quite watery. I would skip the water next time. So easy and delicious. *must be eaten warm out of the oven served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. yum!

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2013
Best chicken parm I have ever eaten. I like Chef John's way, less sauce more crispy! A few steps but soooo worth it. I have made this twice now for dinner parties and both times my guests raved about it. I always use marinara and add herbs to the bread crumbs.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2013
We thought this was very good. I usually use canned or bottled but I was out. I had all the ingredients on hand. I added garlic and used agave. Not sure I would call it 'exquisite'.

Healthier Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2013
This is pretty easy and turned out beautiful. I agree with other reviews that this is plenty sweet if your peaches are sweet. If they're not very sweet you can sprinkle a lil sugar on them before dropping the batter on top. Wish I could post my pic but this site doesn't make it easy, image from my iphone is too small. lame. I'll be making this again. Thanks for posting!

Greek Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
I made this recipe exactly as written with the exception of using greek yogurt, it was vey good. I made it in the form of cupcakes with cream cheese frosting for my daughter's third bday party. The kids loved them, as did the adults. It was a little labor intensive but I would make it again.

Nany's Cheesy Cauliflower Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
This was really good with some changes. I used 1 cup of half 1% milk and half 1/2&1/2 in place of the condensed milk. I used 3/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt instead of Mayo cause we don't like Mayo much. Plus these changes made it a bit healthier. I also used sharp cheddar, mozzarella & a little parmesan. For a total of almost two cups of cheese. The cauliflower head I used was very large. Last thing I did was half the butter and used all panko bread crumbs which were delicious. The kids ate it up, even my 3 year old non veggie eater ate seconds. Yea!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

I thought it was great. Made it really easy to frost my cake and the ingredients were simple. I did add the chocolate and it was delicious. My 10 year old daughter loved it too! Going to make this for the cupcakes tomorrow and add some lemon. :)

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2013
This is good stuff. I'm on day two and it is getting better! Yummy! I would give this 4 1/2 stars if I could. I did change a couple of things. I only used one celery stock and it has plenty of celery taste for me. I sub'd 1/2 a cup of the sugar for raw honey which I added to the liquid mixture. I also sub'd 1/2 the vinegar for apple cider vinegar. Delish!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
So, I didn't read the recipe carefully enough before beginning and I didn't have bread flour on hand. The crust still came out good, I imagine it would be great with bread flour and will try it again. I took the advice of other reviewers and added some Italian seasoning to the flour. Very quick and easy pizza dough recipe.
