Norwegian Krumkake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Great easy to use recipe. Added a little Cardamom for an ethnic taste. Liked that this recipe used milk rather than cream and you couldn't taste a difference.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
Very good! Even got my picky 9 year old sister to eat it (with lots of cheese of course and picking out the tomatoes). She does like tacos though. Will use recipe again.

These were great! A bit gooey, but the favor was yummy. I brought them to a famiy gathering on Christmas Eve last year and they were gone quickly.

These rock... Everyone always loves them. I love almond flavoring. If you don't care much for it, I doubt you'd like these.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
Love this! I make these for breakfast a lot and all the kids love them! I love that they're getting oatmeal in there and I also use half whole wheat flour and half applesauce for the oil.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Made this as an appetizer for a dinner party and everyone just loved it! Our friend who is rather picky just kept raving and raving about it. We served it with pieces of parmesan french bread and crackers. Great recipe!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
Great! Doubled the seasonings as suggested and also used some seasoning salt for some of the salt. For those that say the texture is funny, do you have you had pumpkin seeds before? I've been eating them my whole life and the they're always a little "chewy". Even hard to chew at times. The flavor makes up for it!

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2008
Awesome... I adore this mix. I do think it tastes better with a bit less sugar and mixed with milk instead of water.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
I make this in the crockpot, usually. The skin doesn't get crispy, unfortunately, but the taste is just the same. Great recipe!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Awesome! I too wanted something that didn't involve cream soups and this had good reviews. I brought it to Easter brunch and everyone loved it. This will be the recipe I always use now.

Bread Machine Swedish Coffee Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2008
For flavor, I give this 5 stars, but for it actually turned out, I'd give it 4, but I gave it 5 because I think it was my error more than anything. Not as light and fluffy as I would like. The bread ended up being more dense. I don't think I gave it enough time to rise though. I don't really make bread, so an estimated rising time for this recipe would have been nice. I also overcooked it a bit so the bottom and top were hard and very brown. My errors. May take less time than stated. I think this is the perfect amount of cardamom. You need to like the taste to really enjoy this bread! I added about a teaspoon of cinnamon on top of the cardamom since I enjoy those flavors together. As for the pearl sugar. That is very Swedish and does go with the bread. You can find it decently priced at Ikea in their food market. I also love cardamom bread with just granulated sugar on top, granulated sugar and cinnamon together or a light icing made with powdered sugar, milk, a little butter and almond extract. Sprinkle shaved almonds on top. Mmmmm... Now that is a treat! So if you don't have pearl sugar on hand, one of those toppings will work!

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
Great! I used 1/2 C whole wheat flour in place of 1/2 C of white. Next time I'll do 1 cup whole wheat flour. I also used half unsweetened applesauce for half the oil. Very moist! I probably used a little more than 3 C Zucchini and again, it was great! Kids were very happy!

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
I had never had luck making homemade pizza crust before. It either didn't taste very good or had a weird texture. This was awesome! Chewy with just the right amount of crisp and taste was great! We only had Corona Extra beer and only had time for it sit about a hour. Definitely not flat, but still fabulous results. We made BBQ Chicken Pizza on it.

Savory Grilled Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Really good. I didn't have heavy duty foil so I doubled it, but the potatoes burned. Grill was too hot though. We rescued most of the potatoes and broiled them in the oven. I agree that you can't taste the mayo after they're cooked at all which is good since I'm not a fan!

California Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
Loved this! So fresh tasting. Course having all organic ingredients from a nearby farm helped, I'm sure. Only difference is that I used a red onion instead of a white one. I also used a food processor for the cabbage and carrot and they ended up a little more minced than I would have liked.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Definitely 5 stars for Sloppy Joes. I am typically not a fan of them at all, but my brother-in-law used this recipe one night and I was amazed at the difference between these and the kind I'm usually served at functions. These definitely aren't as saucy as most, but that is a huge plus for me. Everyone else seemed to love these too. Red peppers were also used along with the green.
