I am married to a terrific man & we have four awesome children. We are missionaries, based out of Orlando, FL. I learned to cook from both of my parents, but I inherit my LOVE for cooking from my father, who always made delicious meals.
My favorite things to cook
It depends on the day or season of my life. I really enjoy trying new recipes, which is one reason I LOVE allrecipes.com. I tell everyone I know about this website! I like to try to turn really good , unhealthy dishes into healthier ones. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Fortunately I have a wonderful family who forgives when my dishes don't come out so good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lots of different Christmas cookies for the holiday season, Turkey and the works, getting everyone involved in the process, Egg and sausage bake for Christmas morning. My husband makes pancakes almost every Sunday for our family.

Easy Portuguese Kale Soup
Giving this 5 stars with my additions. I used "Better than Bouillon" with water instead of chicken broth. I love this product. I used 1-2 cups more water than the recipe called for. At the very end, I added a can of cream of chicken soup to give it some creaminess. I loved it and so did my family.

Yum! I doubled the sauce and since we didn't have frozen broccoli, I added some fresh veggies we had on hand. I also added 2 eggs & double the garlic. I didn't use all of the rice noodles, as they would have completely overwhelmed the dish. Added about 2/3 of them instead. We loved it the way I prepared it!

Doreen's Ham Slices on the Grill
Yummy! I used this marinade and baked the ham while it was sitting in the juice/sauce. I didn't have enough lemon, so I added some orange juice. Very good!
