Making Anaheim Fish Tacos for my husband. Healthy, and brings back the taste of SoCal. I'm using Mahi Mahi instead if Halibut because it's... well... more available, and a classic for fish tacos. Tomorrow I'll be making these Oat Applesauce Muffins. MORE

About Me
Having grown up in California, lived in NY and now just moving to Michigan, my cooking is eclectic. I have Dutch parents and a Mexican heritage husband - so it even gets more interesting.

My cooking triumphs
For a party of visiting family or friends, at times I prepare an Indonesian feast - always a big hit. Another triumph is watching my young daughter cook - she made tamales from scratch all by herself (I was not allowed in the kitchen) at 10! This year, we bought a smoking box, so smoked turkey was an achievement.
My cooking tragedies
I learned I was not a baker at 9 years old when I baked a coconut meringue pie for my mother. It looked absolutely beautiful but it tasted awful because I had substituted one ingredient I did not have. I learned then that cooking allowed me to be more creative and artistic.
