Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
Excellent! I added a can of mandarin oranges (drained) and sprinkled on some feta cheese just for color and variety. Dressing was divine- certainly a keeper.

Turkey Tenderloins

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
WOW! I cannot believe how easy and good this was! It took 5 minutes to assemble and less than 15 to cook (convection oven) and my family (hubby, 10 yr old and 6 yr old)loved it--leaving nothing on their plates! They said it was better and more tender than thanksgiving turkey. I served it with homemade cranberry sauce and green beans. Thanks so much for a recipe that makes me look like a kitchen rockstar!

Cranberry Streusel Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
This is outstanding! My only issue was the strusel topping didn't turn out right the first time (it was dry and floury) because I think 1 tsp of shortening isn't nearly enough. The second time I used about 1.5 T of shortening and it was great. This was devoured at our pot luck and a nice change on cranberry recipes! Thx for sharing!!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
This is delicious! I cut the chili powder in half simply becasue I don't want it to have too much kick for my little ones. I make it with ground turkey and I add a can of whole cranberries in jelly (trust me no one will have any idea cranberries are in there and it gives a very faint sweetness). My family loves this chili- thanks Debdoozie!

Power Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
Very good- very "peanutty"- To reduce calories, I used Splenda sugar blend (1/2 cup), reduced corn syrup by half and added 1/2 cup honey (next time I will try agave syrup since it is better for you than all of that). Added 1/2 cup wheat germ and next time I will try to add in some protein powder and powdered milk (to increase calcium). I will also try dried cherries. Overall my 9 and 5 year olds chowed them down as did my hubby so I like this recipe!

Fast Chicken Soup Base

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
First time broth-maker and this was a cinch! My husband went crazy for it and knew something was different right away even though I hadn't told him I made the broth differently than I usually do. It only took a few extra minutes and was worth every second! THANKS!!

Broccoli Quiche with Mashed Potato Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This was lacking in taste but I am not sure why. I added fresh garlic, diced ham and even about 1/2 cup chopped spinach but this was just so-so. The mashed potato crust was a nice change of pace. If I make it again I will add more spices.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
This is seriously the best apple pie I have ever had! Everyone went nuts over it and begged me for the recipe. I added Penzy's cinnamon (about 1/2 t) but that is the only change I made. I will never use another apple pie recipe. I also made it with a struesel topping and that was divine as well. You just can't go wrong with Grandma Ople's pie! YUMMY

Cheddar Artichoke Quiche Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
These were very good and easy to make. I think cooking in the marinade made them a little too salty, so I would use just EVOO next time. Otherwise everyone really enjoyed these. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Delicious with some minor adjustments. I used a whole pre-roast chicken from the grocery store (easily shreds). I added 1/2 sauted onion, 1 t cumin, a can Rotel tomatoes, did half the mayo and used sour cream for the other half. I also used the reduced fat cream cheese (not the fat free!). Serve it with a bowl of salsa on the side so the color can be spiced up a bit. Great recipe that my family chowed down!

Restaurant-Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2007
Delicious! I agree with other reviewers that the quantity of some ingredients needs to be adjusted (1/2 tsp. carrot for example) but otherwise this is a keeper. Every time I make it it is gone in a flash. Thanks for the recipe!

Absolutely Excellent Oatmeal Cookies

These were VERY cakey in texture- and even that wasn't so flavorful. We ended up throwing out the batter. If you like cakey- then perhaps this is a good recipe for you. Sorry!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2007
This is a great recipe. Some other reviewers had problems with the center falling-these tips may help. Cakes will sink or fall because of the following 1.Overbeating-too much air is incorporated 2.Underbaking- oven temp is too low or too short a baking time 3.Over or under measurement of ingredients 4.Using too small/large of baking pan 5. Make sure your oven temp is correct-preheat for at least 30 min. and check to make sure your oven is heating properly by using an oven thermometer for accuracy and finally, only open your oven door if you have to and then make sure 3/4 of the cooking time is up. Happy baking everyone!

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
So good! I grilled the fish instead of frying it and used sour cream instead of mayo but otherwise followed directions. I also made a Corn Salsa from this site "Fiery Fish Tacos" and served that on top. We live in the heart of Tex-mex land and this measured up!

Delish! I blackened the corn in a skillet (no oil or water) and added diced avocado. This was so very good! Enjoy!
