Baked Yam and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
Wow, I was impressed by this recipe. The lack of spices made me think it was going to be bland and tasteless. On the contrary my friends, this turned out to be very delicious, and I didn't change a thing

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
I was looking for an easy pizza sauce, that didn't need simmering all day. This was it, quick and good. Thanks for sharing.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
Good muffins, be careful they do stick in the pan. I greased my silicone muffin pan and they still needed easing out. Otherwise pretty good flavor, texture is a little cake like. Used all whole wheat flour and they were still good.

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This was my first time brining, and now I will always do it. So worth the extra step, the breast meat was so tender and juicy you could cut it with the side of your fork! Thanks so much for sharing!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Good pie, however I'll stick with my old recipe which is the traditional sugar, flour and spices, and then you roll the apple slices in, and then turnout onto the pastry. I found this recipe to be bland, and too saucy of a texture. Reminded me of canned apple pie filling, which is the reason I make mine from scratch! Thanks for sharing anyways!

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2008
I had made this pie quite a while ago (6 months) and when I see people again, they say " I can still taste that terrific pie, it was so amazing!". I don't remember ever having so many compliments or to this degree before, and I cook and entertain quite a bit. Everyone loved this pie. What a wonderful recipe! My only advise, is don't change a thing, and use homemade crust! Thanks so much for sharing.

Chocolate Toffee Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Good flavor, next time I will try doubling the toffee layer as others have said, but was a bit disappointed that it sunk into the crust. The crust was also way too crumbly and dry, does need more butter or less graham crumbs. Used Skor bits on top instead of nuts. Found the 1 cup of chocolate to be a good proportion, and spread nicely. But good to fix a sweet craving without a lot of hassle. Thanks.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I don't understand why these get rave reviews??? The texture was soft yes, but very chewy and crumbly, and not cookie like at all. Maybe would make a better granola bar? I used old fashioned rolled oats, (as I do in my regular recipe), and maybe it should have been quick oats? At any rate, there are way too many oats in this recipe. I have three kids who are all cookie lovers, and I made these a week ago and there are still some left. Sorry but I will stick to my regular recipe.

Summer Salad with Cumin-Crusted Salmon

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2006
LOVE this salad, I have made it about a half dozen times now, and I just can't get enough. I add about 3-4 oranges, add a cayanne kick in the salmon coating, and cut down on the oil a little (only for diet reasons), but otherwise make this recipe just as is...IT'S AWESOME!!, thanks so much for sharing!

Eggnog I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
Very good and easy to make. I only added 3 cups of homo milk, and a full cup of whipping cream. (I was worried it was going to be runny). I also whipped the eggs until they were very thick. It turned out awesome, and thick enough if you wanted to add in some rum. (but wonderful without as well) Very rich and creamy. My kids loved it, my son had 4 cups! Thanks for sharing.

Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2005
Very bland, needs more spice. Should have drained the pumpkin more after baking as it was very watery. Texture was extreamly light. I liked the fact that it was sweetened with honey instead of sugar, with a little tweaking this recipe could be good.

Tzatziki I

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2002
I can see the need for draining the cucumbers so much, although I followed the steps my dip was still a little runny, I have since searched the topic and found a recipe that drained the yogurt first (in cheesecloth). I think I will try this next time, however the taste was fabulous, a little too garlicky for my kids, but my husband and I loved it. Thanks

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2002
DISSAPOINTED...I was looking for a good banana bread recipe, this was more like cake. Extremely sweet, and not much banana flavor. However may not make a bad cake.
