Hot Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
My husband gave this 5 stars and requested I add it to my regular repertoire. Very delicious. I used 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb ground chorizo for my meats. I used corn and black bean salsa to add a little fiber. Even my picky 7 year old nephew loved it. It was a bit spicy but we like it that way. Thanks, Chef John!!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
My family was all extremely skeptical of this "homemade cranberry sauce idea." They all truly ate their words. RAVE reviews from everyone, even those who don't normally eat cranberry sauce. I will never buy a can again, especially considering how extremely easy this recipe was.

Best Ever Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
Didn't have tarragon so I subbed Italian seasoning. I also doubled the recipe and broiled these for 10 minutes on each side to reduce fat. DELICIOUS. My husband gave them 5 out of 5 stars and he's a very tough sell. I'll be making these again!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
I just made this and it's DELICIOUS! My family, including a picky 4 year-old, loved it. I followed exactly except I seasoned the meat with 3 cloves fresh garlic, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper. I also used 1 cup wine and 3 cups water instead of all 4 cups water. I doubled the corn starch but still wish it were thicker. I'll add more later. I also found there wasn't enough gravy so I'll probably add 2 cups more liquid next time. Great recipe!!

Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
My husband recently discovered Nutella and has been bugging me ever since to make cookies with it. This recipe was PERFECT! So simple! All I had on hand were cinnamon graham crackers and it was delicious. I will definitely be making these again.

Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
These cookies were PHENOMENAL! I really think that usually sugar cookies are too sweet, but these were perfect. I didn't roll all of them in sugar and these plain ones were fun to frost. Great recipe!!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Delicious!! I made this the other night and my husband is already requesting it again. I seared the roast in a cast iron skillet then added the sauce ingredients to it to get all that flavor. I also added a little wine and let it simmer before adding it to the slow cooker. In the bottom of the slow cooker I put red skin potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion. Made a truly delicious meal. I'll be making this again.

I've become famous for this cheesecake. It's perfectly delicious. I don't add the flour, but otherwise I follow it exactly and it's perfect every time.

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
This was DELICIOUS. Truly excellent. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the sauce just wasn't enough. I added wine and mushrooms to it so I thought there would be extra, but it actually wasn't enough and I had to make more. I'd recommend doubling the sauce portion. But it tasted great! :)

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
This was delicious. Seriously. My husband already asked when I'm making it again and we just had it last night. I made a few changes. I put onions and mushrooms under the chops while they baked and in my hot skillet after searing the chops I sauteed onions and mushrooms before adding the soup, milk, and wine. I added a little parsley and seasonings, as well. The sauce was the star of this dish. We had redskin potatoes and green beans and the sauce worked well with all three components. I only baked the chops for 30 minutes then added the sauce and turned the oven off and let the flavors meld for about 20 minutes in the oven while it cooled. The chops were very juicy, not overdone at all. The only thing I'll change next time is the use of bread crumbs. I felt that the flavor of the bread crumbs did compliment the amazing flavor of the sauce. Overall, really good recipe that I will definitely use again.
