About this Cook
I love cooking when I have the time...am super lazy when I don't!
My favorite things to cook
Family favourites, and good healthy but hardy meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I associate most with my polish heritage so cooking any traditional polish fare is always a treat - especially since it's not a part of my daily diet!
My cooking triumphs
Every time I make a meal and see ma gathering of friends and family gathered around the table enjoying it!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I ever tried cooking a small turkey was Thanksgiving at my grandfather's. After about 6 hours in the oven and a raw bird, he informed me I definitely wasn't ready to get married! (Turns out, he got a new stove a few weeks later because the oven was dead!)

Apple Crisp II
Listened to a lot of the tips in other reviews... doubled the crumble (for a layer on the bottom), halved the water (used galas so only used half the sugar) which I added to the sugar mixture and tossed it all together (instead of pouring the water over it into the dish). AMAZING reviews from the full fam.

Classic Minestrone
Great hearty soup (both the the night of and the next day!). I've frozen a bunch so hopefully that works out well for me. I didn't "change" the recipe at all (aside from adding a clove of minced garlic), but I did use canned diced tomatoes instead of fresh (primarily because I'm about 12 months pregnant and easy is my M.O. these days!). For those having troubles finding cannellini beans in the store - look for "white kidney beans"...that's what I found most of the major brands carrying.
