Back after a hiatus from the blog due to my extensive travelling this year.  Just returned from Florida, my 4th trip there this year.  Have a wonderful turkey dinner menu for a small group.  I made this for my wife after Thanksgiving since she had to work the holiday.  Brining the turkey gives it a wonderful taste and keeps it moist.  I used an Orange-Tea-Bourbon brine then cooked it with a Paprika Butter; http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63017558/orange-tea-bourbon-brined---paprika-butter-turkey/detail.aspx< .  Went simple with the sides of mashed potatoes and gravy.  For the bread I made Sweet Potato Biscuits; http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63017653/fluffy-sweet-potato-biscuits/detail.aspx< .  Then to finish it off, instead of a standard pumpkin pie, went with the Pumpkin-Cheescake Swirl; http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63017677/pumpkin-cheesecake-swirl-pie/detail.aspx< .

About Me
I am a mining engineer from Missouri. I am currently working as a sales engineer for a company that manufactures aggregate processing equipment. I love to cook and entertain for family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook something new. I prefer slow cooker, soups and stews, and stove top meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies have always been a mainstay for our family. When I am at my parents house we always stop working at 10am to eat cookies.
My cooking triumphs
For the last two years I have been one of the Gourmet Guys at the Friends of the Library fundraiser. I also won the company soup contest with a White Chicken Chili.
