Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
This is a great recipe one best blond brown recipe I have. Sometimes I add colored M&M's during holidays instead of chocolate chips for gifts. At Christmas add red and green M&M's , Valentines Day add pink and red M&M's and for Easter I put pastels M&M's and I always double the recipe for my family. If I want to be extra festive I cut this with shape cookie cuts when I gifting them.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2013
I love this recipe but I did change it the second time I prepared it just on how I prepared it. I went ahead and mix up my spices and add 1 teaspoon of Season All Salt to it as well. I sliced my chicken breast up where they looked like more like stir fry slices instead of whole breast for faster cooking time. Then I put the chicken with the spice and shake it up. I fixed the butter olive oil with fresh minced garlic kind of like scampi style. Then just before I pulled it I squeased on my lime juice. My family like it better the second time because they said the chicken was spiced more evenly. This now has became our go to chicken taco recipe. Thank you for share. Last night I tried even adding the splash of tequila as one member suggested by add it with Lime juice and it was great as well.

Weekday Pot Roast and Vegetables

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
This is a very good and easy dish to fix. With the left overs I make soup which my family like just as well. I cube up the veggies in to smaller pieces and shredded the meat. In a 3 quart sauce pan I put a can of diced tomatoes and 1 bag of frozen mixed vegetables 2 cup water. Warm this up the add left over in to it. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes to blend flavors. My family ate both meal like there was no tomorrow.

Southwestern Mini Turkey Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2013
This is good but I changed a few things. We don't use cumin because of food allergies with some family members and my family doesn't like black beans so I used pinto beans instead and I use 3 T. dehydrated cilantro, 2 tsp. minced garlic(1 for meatballs-1 for tomatoes sauce) plus 2 tsp. shallots divided the same way. I used chopped green chile tomatoes that I ran through the blender for a sauce to put them in after I cooked them and then place in the crock pot to keep it warm. My family and friends most have liked them because none were left that evening.

South of The Border Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2012
I couldn't find my Chicken Tortilla Soup recipe so I used this one but I had to do some changes on it. I fried onions, 2 cloves garlic, 1 stalk celery thinly sliced, bell pepper all at once in olive oil instead. Instead of frozen mixed vegetables I used 1 can of Bush pinto bean drained, 1 cup of frozen corn, and 1 can of Diced tomatoes and Green Chile. I also used 1 Tablespoon NM Red Chile Powder instead of chili powder. I also used 3 1/2 cups of my homemade chicken broth instead of store bought. My family like hot spicy and even tripling the chile wasn't enough for some them but they add more to their taste in their own bowls. They also thought the soup taste came out great. Our 2 year old grandson keep asking for More Pease! He likes the grated cheese and tortilla strips on top.

I had to do changes on this recipe like I do on most because of High Altitude. I decreased the sugar by 1/4 cup and the baking soda to 1 3/4 teaspoon. I increased the flour to 2 1/2 cups and I increased the oil to 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons and 3/4 + 3 tablespoons cup buttermilk instead of just 3/4 cup also double the vanilla that is called for.

Ex-Girlfriend's Mom's Salsa Fresca (Pico de Gallo)

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
I double this recipe because my family loves Pico de Gallo. I also used 3 jalapeno instead of 2 but only used 1/2 cup of cilantro because my family is not big on cilantro. It was a hit because none was left. I also add a pinch of garlic powder.

Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
I did some changes on this because my husband get his cloths grease. I used 2-5.5oz bars of Fels-Naptha soap or 1-14 oz Zote soap, 4 cup soda because we have real hard water, & 2 cups Borax and half bottles (1 quart) of Lavender liquid Clorox II still use the same about of water plus I boil a few lavender stem from my garden in the first batch of water and strained it before I added the soap. In my front load all I need to use less then a fourth of a cup. I used all these products to begin with except the soap and I find this to be so much easier than before plus I even add a small bottle of a off-brand liquid oxi-clean and one of my friend add bluing to her's. I love this soap and I can find everything at my local Wal-mart.
