Hot Italian Giardiniera

Amazing!!! I too grew up in Chicago and this is one thing I always take back with me on visits. It does not last long. Next time I will use serranos and a bit less vinegar. I am in heaven.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Fantastic. Trading my my dutch apple pie recipe. My tweaks (collected from other reviews): I used the pre-made DOUGH (by the buscuit rolls). Easy to cut the lattice work. Brushed the dough with egg. Sprinkled a little fresh cinnimon and nutmeg directly on the apples in the pan. I had to make the sauce 3 times because it kept separating. I realized my mistake was heating it too long or too hot. I tried follow the directions but found that once everything is disolved, a few mintues of continued heating on low was perfect. I poured it through the holes in the latticed an then used the last few drizzles to paint lines on the lattice... then brushed them in to make the coverage on the lattice uniform.
