Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Echoing other reviewers, this is awesome on "Best Rolled Sugar Cookies" recipe from this site. I didn't know what kind of milk was best, I had skim and half and half - so I split the difference and used a tablespoon of each. I also doubled the vanilla. It was perfect, got a nice "stackable" crust but still felt like fresh frosting when you bit into it - so good!

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Love this recipe - a family staple since childhood. Our family (like others) omits the raisins and uses 2cups cranberries instead. Because the bread does tend to be crumbly I now make them as mini-muffins (makes about 3.5 dozen) baked at 350 for 17 minutes - bite sized and delish.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Have made this several different ways (including exactly as written) all delish! My kids love them best as mini muffins with a few chocolate chips thrown in - probably because they cook in about 12 minutes. I substitute half the flour with whole wheat flour to off-set the chocolate guilt. Thanks so much for a great recipe!

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly and got mixed reviews. My husband and I thought it just okay - the glaze tasted basically like maple syrup, barely a hint of the bourbon. On the up side, my two boys (ages 1 and 3) LOVED it.

Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
Awesome! Didn't read all reviews first and burned the caramel in my first attempt - so pay attention to the cooking time (it's only a few minutes after all : ) ). The second time I cooked the caramel sauce for 1.5 minutes, stirred than another 1.5 minutes then added the baking soda. When I re-microwaved it I only did 45 seconds per side and it turned out perfectly! Also as with other reviewers, I halved the recipe and used one bag of microwave popcorn. Delish.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
A Christmas morning hit - made a few changes based on other reviews. I doubled the recipe but tripled the eggs (I used a dozen), then I divided into an 8x8 and a 9x13 - turned out great

Kosher Salt Encrusted Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2004
Had to make a few changes due to oven space (or lack thereof). Used Allrecipes prime rib tips to alter cooking time. I used an 8 lbs. roast and seared it at 450 for 30mins. then turned heat down to 350 and cooked for an additional 2hrs (15min. per pound). It was a boneless roast so I think it took another 20-30 min. So total cooking time was close to 3 hours. I took it out when it reached 135 on meat thermometer- was a perfect medium rare roast - the fam. raved.
