Great recipe to base your version of it on. I seared the roast with some salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, then used one can of beef connsumme instead of the beef broth with the french onion soup, and bought a sirloin tip roast instead of a rump roast. I also had it in the crock pot a lot longer. Soaking the slices before serving is KEY! I soaked ours for a good 20-30 minutes before serving and it paid off. So good. Served on french rolls with butter & mozz cheese under the broiler. As we say in my family, this one's a keeper.
