Ice Cream Cake Roll

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2008
Amazing taste. Not so amazing presentation. I made this for Father's Day and my entire family loved it. I wasn't so happy with the way it looked. The cake cracked as I was rolling it so it looked more like a layer cake than a roll. Maybe I left it in the oven too long. I will make this again but will have to try to find a way to make it look nicer.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts III

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Second time making this. I was a little disapointed. My mistake though. I did not follow the advice of cooking on a baking sheet with a rack. When I made the first time I did follow the advice and they came out so crispy. Much better. Take the time and follow this step you will not be disappointed.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
Wonderful! Made it for a bridal shower and everyone loved this and asked for the recipe. I did take others advice and I substituted 3 cups of water for 3 cups of vodka. I did forget to take it out of the freezer before hand to let it get slushy but nobody seemed to mind. Will absolutely make this again.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
This is so moist. I can't believe how good it is. I made it without the raisins and nobody missed them. At Easter, my dad, who is a great cook, said that I beat his ricotta cake. I made this with the cream cheese frosting that others had mentioned but I did add more sugar but I think it was too sweet. Thanks for the recipe!!

Aioli

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
Good recipe but a little heavy. I usually just make a quick aioli using mayo, milk, garlic and lemon juice. (Weight Watchers) Much lighter even though not true aioli.

Wonderful Margaritas

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
This is wonderful! I made this for a bridal shower and the women went crazy. They were tipping the bowl over at the end to get the last little drops. I should have doubled the recipe. Only modifications are I froze the lemon and lime slices and made an ice ring with some of the lemon-lime soda. Five stars are not enough for this recipe!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
This recipe is wonderful. I made this twice over the Christmas break. Everyone couldn't believe they were mine. I did follow the other suggestions and used Wheat Thins instead of Ritz. I also used canned crab and imitation together. I couldn't find Old Bay Seasoning here in Toronto, Canada so I used a mixture of dill weed, basil and lemon. I am going to make it again as an appetizer for my March Break Luncheon with some teacher friends. Thank you so much for the great recipe.

Zucchini Cheese Garlic Appetizer

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2005
This recipe was horrible. I made it for a dinner party and was very dissapointed. It was soggy and has too much garlic (if there is such a thing!) I love all vegetable but the zucchini just didn't cook enough no matter how long I cooked it.

Old Fashioned Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2004
I made this recipe for a Thanksgiving lunch at work. I had to make enough for 40 people. I should have made enough for 80, it went so quickly. Everyone loved it. I did add grated carrot to the onions and celery though. Thanks Lynn for the recipe

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2004
This was very good. I made it for a birthday party. People thought I had bought the dip and couldn't believe I had made it myself. The bread for dipping is no where near enough.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
These were wonderful. I made quite a lot of cookies ( I made them smaller) and gave them away as gifts at Christmas. These are great for people who have had enough of chocolate chip cookies and are looking for something other than oatmeal. LArone

Best Brownies

These were very good! I had family staying overnight and wanted something quick for the children. The children helped make them. I had everything on hand, another plus. I served these with vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate syrup on top. No leftovers!!!

Berry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2003
This was delicious!!! I had some family coming over for a last minute visit so I needed to prepare something quick and this fit the bill. I used frozen mixed berries I purchased from the store and had left over from another recipe. And when those were not enough I added a few frozen cranberries. They all loved it. I did follow a reviewers advice and sprinkled sugar on top before baking and baking time is definitely too short. I left mine in 15 minutes longer.

Old Fashioned Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
This turned out pretty well. I needed a recipe quick for Thanksgiving. After we moved, I couldn't find my recipe book with my usual Apple pie recipe. Some people liked it some liked the ones I usually bake. The only things I would change would be adding less butter and more flour. The juices in the pie did not thicken as much as I like. All in all a pretty good recipe.

Pumpkin Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2003
These were wonderful. I brought them to work to let a coworker try them. She is very picky and will never buy cookies or other baked items from a store. She loved them. They were moist and the spices just right. I used pumpkin from our Halloween jack-o-lantern. I cooked up the pieces and then froze them in plastic containers.
