Scott's Coast-to-Coast Famous Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Oh man! These were really good. I pan fried them in about 1/4 inch of peanut oil for 10 minutes per side. Much better than using an entire gallon of peanut oil and this got the wings good and crispy. For the sauce, I added 1 tsp of red pepper flakes, which for me left the wings fairly spicy. This isn't a traditional Buffalo Wing sauce, but is still really good. I liked the garlic flavor in addition to the heat from the red pepper flakes, Frank's RedHot and black pepper. I will definitely make these again.

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
We had this at Thanksgiving. I followed the recipe nearly exactly. I mixed the season with the oil/lemon juice and rubbed it on the chicken. I then stuffed the cavity with half a lemon and 4 garlic cloves. Very good.

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
This is really easy and tastes surprsingly good. I make it with Brown rice instead of white. I will consider adding some veggies to it next time. This will be a frequent side dish at our house.

Orange Chicken

Followed this recipe exactly. Very good, very easy. Even the kids liked this one. We will make this again, and I don't plan on changing a thing.

Jeff's Hot Dog Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
This was so good. Like some other reviewers, I substituted beef broth for the water. I also used a can of rotel diced tomatoes and a full teaspoon of pepper. This was so good. Grilled some Nathan's Famous hot dogs to serve it one.

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
The marinade didn't really penetrate the meat with this recipe. I found it fairly bland. Given how popular this recipe is, maybe I'm just not a big fan of lamb.

Creamy Cheddar Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Wow, this was so good! I used a half point of mild cheddar and a half pound of sharp cheddar. Also, chopped up 6 strips of bacon and added after the cheese was melted. This just added a little something extra. So very good and we'll definitely make this on again.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This is way better than Olive Garden. Didn't modify this recipe much. I did add 1 cup of cream and used a mild italian sausage instead of spicy. But then I added 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes to kick the heat up a bit. Really good recipe.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This is a delicious potato soup. My only complaint is that it doesn't make enough soup! I messed up the recipe a little and added too much pepper, but it was still really good and I liked the extra heat. I can't wait to make this again. I'll also use this as a base and try adding other ingredients in place of the potatoes, such as mushrooms and chicken. This will definitely be a repeat dinner at our house.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Awesome chili recipe. Not too spicy, which was very popular at my house. I added a can of black beans and also a 4 oz. can of diced green chilis. In place of the cayenne and cumin, I used Emeril's Southwest Seasoning. I cooked in the crockpot for 6 hours, and served with shredded cheddar cheese. Everyone loved it. I fed 7 people and ther wasn't a drop left.

Fajita Marinade I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
This was really good. The only change I made was to add 1/2 tsp of dried cilantro. I used this tonight with beef fajitas and it was awesome. This would be a great marinade, even if you weren't making fajitas.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Loved this recipe. I had to adapt things just a bit because I halved it to feed 2 adults and 3 kids. However, I used all the ingredients called for just had to adjust a few quantities. We really liked this and will definitely make it again. It didn't end up looking like the picture, but it was so good. This rivals Guy Fieri's pepperoni studded lasagna for my favorite lasagna.

Buffalo Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
I won a chili cook-off at work with this recipe. This is really good. I used a 28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes and less tomato sauce to make it thicker. I also added black beans and used shredded chicken instead of ground chicken. Wonderful chili flavor with a nice kick. If you want to make it hotter or more of a traditional "buffalo" flavor, then add more Frank's and less Chili powder. However, it's wonderful as written.

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

This was great. Used olive oil instead of butter, and minced garlic/fresh onion instead of powder. The kids loved it. Will definitely make again.

Easy Cheese and Ham Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
Really good start. Thanks to some of the other reviewers that suggested cutting the heavy cream in half. I also added about a 1/2 teaspoon of salt, pepper and chopped chives. I also topped with more cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese to create a crusted top. Very good.

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2014
This is pretty awesome. I used an organic marinara instead of tomato sauce, and I didn't end up needing 4 cups of panko bread crumbs. Otherwise I followed this recipe as written. This ends up super crispy and the provolone is a nice addition. I will definitely make this one again.

Chinese Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2013
I'm giving this 4 stars because I modified it just a bit. My kids have trouble with corn starch, so I made a roux and used that thicken the sauce. I also added 1 tsp of minced garlic to the sauce. I then browned all the steak before adding it to the sauce. Then I dumped the steak and sauce with the onion and cooked it until the onions were tender. I then added green and red bell peppers. I've never heard of Chinese Pepper Steak with tomatoes, so I left them out. It was really good and we will definitely make this again.
