Fettuccini Tomato Rustica II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
this is delicious. I used fresh basil from my garden, and went light on the sundried tomatoes since I used sundried tomato feta. My only hesitation is how much cheese and oil is in it. Definitely not a diet meal!

Incredible Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
The chicken tasted good, but nothing too special. You don't taste the brown sugar unless you eat the skin, and we're healthnuts, so we take that off. So it was good, but nothing I'd make regularily. Thanks though!

Lemon Dijon Wings

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
Waaay too much pepper!! It was so overpowering, I couldn't taste anything else. Definitely not worth the time to marinate. It might be salvaged by putting 10% of the pepper specified, but if I'm going to marinate for hours, I expect delicious, this seemed mediocre. Thanks anyways....

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
This was really easy and a hit for my husband and some friends. I used one can of black beans and one can of refried since I didn't have two cans of refried. I also added some jalapeno and green onions to spice it up a bit. It's a great midweek meal. We'll definitely use it again, thank you!

Mango-Shrimp Tostadas

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2005
This was really delicious! I will definitely add it to our rotation. I marinated the shrimp in the lime juice before cooking them to get a good flavor out of them since I used frozen shrimp. But we were big fans, thank you!!!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2005
This didn't turn out well for me. There was too much milk, so it didn't flip over with the nice ketchup brownsugar top. But maybe I didn't use enough meat. I guestimated it. The meat tasted good though.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
This was pretty easy, and yummy. I wouldn't classify it as company food, but that could be because there was so much cheese and butter it was a little too unhealthy for me. My cheese-loving boyfriend was a big fan though.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
This was a really great meal. I even left out the cream since I forgot it at the grocery store. I used milk and cheese to substitute, and as scary as that sounds, it worked out really well. Will add to our recipe box. Thanks!

Molasses Crinkles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2004
These are great! They were easy to make, I took the advice from the review and smushed the top with raw sugar. They turned out fabulous, straight to my recipe box, thanks!

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2004
This recipe was mediocre. My boyfriend really liked it, but I wasn't a fan. For all the calories it must have, the bang wasn't as good as the buck.

Twelve Minute Pasta Toss

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2004
It was a little bland for my taste, I should have tried the review that suggested adding chicken stock. I added corn to get some veggies in the dinner, which added some flavor. But I would have added much more garlic to give it a kick. But it'll be a good recipe for mid-week cooking. It's easy and a decent dish. Just not anything too spectacular. Thanks

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2004
This was a yummy sauce. It doesn't have enough bite for wings, but it would make a great chicken breast over rice sauce. I'll use this again for a dinner recipe. Thanks!

Honey's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2004
This was super easy and delicious. Perfect coffee type cake. I used about 1/2 the sugar cinnamon mixture at the advice of the reviews, and it was just enough. Thank you!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
This was great! Very simple, and tasted wonderful. I never knew how easy it was. WATCH OUT FOR KERNELS. Those suckers hurt when you bite down on them. I tried chocolate covering some of the caramel corn, which turned out fabulous. But with or without chocolate, this was yummy, thanks!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
This was really easy, and very good. I ended up having to add some balsamic vinegar as it cooked in the pan since it dried up so quickly, but maybe I had it on too high heat. (I used a raspberry balsamic, which turned out Fabulous). I'm giving it four stars only cuz we weren't drooling excessively after it, but we were quite pleased. We'll definitely make this one again, Thanks!

Bearnaise Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2003
This sauce tasted great, but the proportions seemed wrong. There is way too much butter. I ended up halfing it, and still had the sauce way too buttery. Plus the consisitancy didn't seem right cuz the butter oil didn't mix with the rest of the ingrediants. So on an aesthetic scale, it ranks low, but it still tasted great! And we're used to having it in France, so that says a lot. Thanks!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2003
I took the advice from some other people and put this over pasta. I halved the shrimp, thinking the marinade would serve as a sauce. Which turned out wonderful, but not enough sauce! So I would double the marinade. I also used balsamic vinegar instead of red wine. And I halved the cayenne pepper for fear of the taste with my sweet balsamic, which wasn't needed. It wasn't too spicy, and could use the whole amount. Next time I would add some chopped cooked tomatoes to the sauce. But overall this is a great (easy!)recipe, Thanks Rachel!!

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2003
This was very easy to prepare and tasted great. I will definitely make it again. I'm giving it 4 stars because I wasn't licking the bowl after, but I was pleased with it. My boyfriend, however, was licking the bowl :)

Fettuccini with Basil and Brie

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2003
I wasn't a fan of this. I love all the ingrediants, but the brie was too strange for me. I didn't think the flavors complimented each other at all. There is another recipe almost the same, but with mozarella that I did really like. I'm giving this two stars because my French boyfriend loved it. Although he ate a big portion, and that much brie made him feel ill. So I don't think we'll be making this again. Sorry...

I've made this several times. It's a great easy dish that's very easy to make. It's a great comprimise between my fried-everything boyfriend and my health conscious self. Thanks!
