Lobster Mornay Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I didn't think this was very good at all, it definitely was very bland. I added garlic but it wasn't enough. A waste of good lobster, hmmm. I recommend adding garlic, maybe some spice to kick it up. If I ever try this again I would add some marinara and make it a pink sauce to give it some extra flavor. Very disappointed, if you try this recipe definitely add, add, add, your favorite seasonings, I usually do that but wanted to follow the recipe. By the way I would suggest squeezing some lemon juice in when sauting the lobster to bring out the flavor, I forgot to do that. On a last note, if you payed a lot for your lobster, I would not try this recipe as is. Luckily I got my lobster on sale. Good Luck!!!

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
These are amazing and so addicting. I was making them for gifts and I had to make more because we ate most of them before I had the chance to wrap them. So I followed some other reviews, this is my suggestions double the recipe ofcourse. I used 2x the amount of salt, 4x the cinnamon, and added 1tsp vanilla. On the sugar I used half the regular sugar and the other half brown sugar. I added about four tablespoons of water to the ingrediants and warmed them up very low on the stove so that the sugar dissolves and ingrediants blend nicely together, then mix into almond and egg mixture. It will seem like a lot but the longer the almonds cook the thicker the mixture gets. I also recommend stirring almonds every 15 minutes to evenly distribute the mixture among the almonds, always make sure almonds are in a single layer on the cookie sheet. I cooked them for an hour and they turned out perfect. I suggest if you giving these for gifts wrap immediately after cooling :)!!!

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2003
good, but not as good as mom's. My mom uses a yellow cake mix but adds much more making it very flavorful and moist, when I find the recipe perhaps I will post it.

Baked Fish with Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2003
So here is my take on this recipe, this recipe as is I find it to be a little bland. I also use a more milder fish because I don't care for snapper. I add to the sauce. Usually fresh garlic, basil, and pepper. Gives it more flavor along with the parmesan. After adding the ingredients the rating goes much higher. Hope you find this helpful.

good idea, you get your chocolate and fruit in one. Every womans dream. I liked it, but would probably have more fun with it if I had children. Thanks for the new idea.

Wasn't very flavorful, I followed the recipe exactly and it ended up being hard and fell apart on me. Was going to give to friends as christmas presents, but didn't turn out very presentable. Oh, well I will try another recipe. thanks anyways.

Funnel Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2002
I am so glad that I don't have to drive all the way to santa cruz to get a funnel cake. The recipe was great and easy. I added fresh strawberries and whip cream, great alternative for strawberry short cake. kim costa
