Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2015
I made this as stated but the batter was so thick I had to add an additional 1/4 cup of milk and even then it was thick. It is good and the texture is a bit heavier than I thought it would be with all the sugar. Way to much topping. Next time I"ll cut that in half and only use 3/4 cups of sugar in the recipe itself. It is so sweet you can hardly taste anything else. But with a little modification it can be really good. :)

Dutch Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2015
I liked it and it is a very good cookie. It is very sweet with the chocolate chips on top. I would like to mention that my dough was very crumbly. I'm assuming this was the way it was suppose to be since they baked quite nicely. I would be willing to make them again. I always use raw sugar opposed to 'white" sugar so this was no exception. Though I think I would try the white sugar with this instead. The raw sugar leaves a very chewy texture almost like an oatmeal cookie. It was good but I was more in a shortbread type of cookie thought. I would also use either a milk chocolate chip or at least less chips. My cookies were big so I used about 10 chips per cookie and after smoothing them out the chocolate was in the center. Not sure how you get that smooth look with the chocolate but mine were not pretty! lol

Super easy and super quick. I made this for my art students and everyone loved it. Even the mums took a bite and really liked it. Good thing I have a good memory because I wound up giving the recipe verbally to several people. Will def make again.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2013
I'm not big on fried foods but this was very good! I would even skip the gravey and just use the above for fried chicken. My family really enjoyed it. I used 2 chicken breast and fileted them and we have left overs. There are three of us and my husband eats for two so it makes a good sized portion! Thank you!

Beef Stroganoff with White Wine

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2013
I'm so sorry but this was not for us! It was made according to instruction and I'm very thankful that I tasted teh sauce before adding my roast beef I had made yesterday to it. It was dreadful. Awful my husband spit it out. It almost taste like a marsella sauce whcih I do like but not quite there...it was just awful. I don't know where stragnoff came into the picture.

Light and Easy Greek Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
This is very light as said. Very good falvor and a nice change from a mayo or mustard potatoe salad. I actually like this a lot better than the mayo. I did add a little more garlic/onion poweder and a touch more olive oil. Very tasty. Will def. make this again!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
Due to the reviews i was really excited to try this being we love pumpkin. First I'd like to say it has wonderful flavor and taste spicey and like pumpkin pie. The reason I'm leaving three stars is it really is not a "cookie" it taste like a pumpkin bread with a glaze over it. I really wanted a cookie not bread. Very soft, very moist and it sticks horribly to your fingers due to the softness. Not what we really wanted and much more simple to just make a pumpkin bread and add the glaze.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
I really like the soup and think it would most likely be just fine as instructed but due to other comments I made a few changes adding some seasoning and I used a chicken base. It was very good BUT I think I used a bit to much crushed pepper flakes. Normally we like it really hot and I'll use as much as 2 teaspoons of red flakes in a dish. lol BUT I used 1 teaspoon and maybe a pinch more in this soup and it was way hot! I mean spicey enough to have to keep a glass of water on hand! So next time a pinch or two but whoaaaa...not so much red pepper! I guess teh way the flavors bind the red peppers seem to expolode...just a heads up. Thank you!

Easy Homemade Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
I had to tweek the receipe so much that it was no longer this receipe. This receipe was very bland and watery. I added a small can of paste, 2 garlic cloves, then I added a harty pinch of onion powder along with a teaspoon of red crushed pepper flackes, 3 TBLS of chili powder, two pinches of salt and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. I also added 1 teaspoon of orgeano. Then after it simmered we ate it Cicinnati style with spagettie, raw onions, loaded with chedder cheese and some hot sauce. My chili is not ultra spicey but we want to taste some spice with our chili.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
I'm sure the failure of my pizza dough was somethign I did but not sure how. I followed the directions step by step and I even cooked for 15 minutes longer and the dough was soagy tasting and never seemed to fully cook underneath of the toppings? So I'm not sure if I would try this again myself.

Easy Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
I've made these twice now. Usually I buy pilsbury but they are so expensive for flour bisquits I thought I'd try my own. I do not have a bisquite cutter so I used a glass. The first time I rolled out my flour to thin so they were flaky but to thin and a bit crisp from doing so. The second time I made them, I made them fatter. I suppose mine were quite a bit bigger and thicker than they were intended and I had to cook them ten minutes longer. Either way everyone loved them. I did notice several people mentioning a lack of flavor...not sure what tehy were looking for being they were flavorful and we always add jams, honey, butter or applebutter to ours. Either way we really enjoyed them and will def make again. Super easy and super quick. Thank you.

I don't think it was bad at all...I iddn't have veg soup mix but onion mix so I used a 1/4 of the pack and added 2 tablespoons of a vegtable dried mixed for seasoning and added garlic. I then added carrots and spinach and it was good.

Top notch. Very tasty and very simple. Now I don't get how people stuff the noodle so I slit it down the middle put the stuffing in and then close it up and set in the pan. Seriously, no one knows but me and now you. :) Will def. make again.

Balsamic Grilled Zucchini

This was very tasty and simply! I loved it on the grill and will def do again. In addition to the zucchini I did the same with some mushrooms. The mushrooms don't take as long to cook but were really good as well! Thank you.

This was pretty good. I cooked it on the skillet instead of in the oven and added mushrooms. My son wasn't thrilled but my husband and I both enjoyed it! Thank you.

Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
I used only 1/4 of the oil and the rest I used regular applesauce. I also only used 1/2 of the sugar and it was plenty sweet enough. I also only used 1 teaspoon of cincinamon. Very moist but I do agree strawberries do not leave a lot of flavor but I still liked it well enough I would make it again. BUT I would puree some of the strawberries and add it as a liquid to boost the flavor a little.

Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
Very tasty and I like that it is from scratch not a box mix or using a yellow cake mix! I did use a little less sugar in the batter mix. I always add more nuts than called for and I'm always happy I did. I will make this again. Thank you.

Tasty Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
I loved these. They were so easy to make! I made half the reciepe, not being sure if they would come out for me, but they did and they were wonderful! I used olive oil and honey instead of sugar. I also followeed the advice of someone below and I stirred it for 3 minutes by hand and it was not dense. It was the perfect texture to use on my bbq pulled beef. I will def. make these again. So easy and tasty!
