About this Cook
I'm 52, widowed, disabled w/no children :-( Moved to FL when I was 4 weeks old, w/my parents, of course! Been here ever since. Been to a lot of places but home is always the best! Besides cooking, I love to do all kinds of crafts and incorporating the two together. I put my 1st complete meal on the table at 8 yrs old. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. Mom made the gravy .. lol Being in the country, of course, everything was fresh. My hubby and I were EagleWatch volunteers for FL Audubon foe several years. I just haven't gotten back to it since he passed. Interesting subject ... awesome to observe during nesting season. I LOVE taking cruises, have taken over 30 so far. I have been a member of The American Legion Auxiliary for 27 years. Love to do benefit/charity parties for local people and active/retired military.
My favorite things to cook
I think my favorite foods to make are Mexican foods. I love spicy, spicy foods. Sometimes I get carried away for other folks taste. I try to remember to take this into consideration. I also love to cook Italian, Greek, Spanish, Thai ... really no limit to my 'likes'.
My favorite family cooking traditions
BBQ'ing, I remember when I was little, my dad getting up at 3:00am to set the pit up for get-togethers. Always smelled sooo good!

Banana Peanut Butter Bread
I was actually disappointed with this recipe. It was very dry and couldn't taste much peanut butter. I'll change it up a little next time I make it.

Four Cheese Macaroni and Cheese
This recipe was ok. I used a convection oven and still found that it neede to cook longer. Maybe a total of 35-40 minutes. I added bread crumbs to the top for some crunch. Next time I make it I will also add just a little flour with the milk. It was a little runny for me. Flavor was real good though.

Easy Peach Pie
This is a very quick, easy recipe. And it is yummy! I tried it with strawberries, too!
