Great Grandad's Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2005
Didn't care too much for this recipe. Not only was the dough extremely hard to work with (unless you have the time to freeze it first), but it tasted awful. I'll stick with the Sugar Cookie recipe that came with my KitchenAid mixer. Much much better!

Baked Beans I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2005
LOVED IT! I made this for our Memorial Day picnic. I used Bush's baked beans and added twice the brown sugar. I also added about 2 tablespoons honey (molasses would also be good) as well as mustard. Instead of cooking for only an hour, I let them cook for 2 1/2. After taking out of the oven, I let them sit, covered, for another 30 mins. When dinnertime came they were perfect! All the juices that I was afraid I would have to drain cooked down as they cooled and the taste was incredible. Next time I think I'll make it in the slow cooker to save on energy, but these were, by far, the best baked beans I've ever had. Everyone loved them and I will be making these regularly from now on! Thanks so much for putting this recipe on here!

Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2004
I bake a lot of sweets and had an excellent recipe for cinammon rolls but misplaced it. This one had wonderful reviews so I gave it a try. I followed this to the letter and the dough did NOT rise and it tasted like an old shoe. Will NOT be making again...

Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2004
I am a baker and make everything from scratch. I had an abundance of sour cream so I thought I would make this and since it had such rave reviews I thought it would be worth my while. The batter tasted just like regular white cake batter and when it was all said and done, it was not anything special at all! I doubt I'll make this again...

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: May 18, 2004
Not bad... I added mustard for more flavor which helped. My husband liked it better than me. I don't know why but it just didn't do it for me. If you like your sloppy joes on the very sweet side, then this is for you... But for me, well I think I'll just stick with Manwich...

Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
Definately easy! I made this when we had some friends over for dinner and it turned out great. I did put too many potatoes in it and I added extra carrots but it was delicious. I should have added more water for the extra veggies so I could have made gravy but it was still fantastic!

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
LOVED IT! This was the easiest recipe ever! Just toss in the crockpot and go! My husband loves anything with sourcream so he really liked it. I made edd noodles and poured the sour cream sauce over the noodles and served the chicken on the side. It was a wonderful dish. I personally do not like mushrooms so I just made it with cream of chicken soups and it turned out incredible! Thanks!

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2003
This was a wonderful cake! I never keep cake flour on hand but bake from scratch all the time and always use regular all purpose flour with no problem. I don't even try to use a conversion chart, I just use the same measurements as you would use cake flour. I also followed the suggestions and skipped the almond extract. My husband who doesn't usually care for pound cake loved it. He especially likes it over a scoop of ice cream. After making another Bundt-Pound cake yesterday that called for Almond extract that turned out wonderfully, I think next time I'll add a touch of it. Great recipe that I've added to my box...

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: May 16, 2003
Loved it! It was so simple to make! This took less than 10 minutes to prepare and it was fantastic! Next time I think I'll add the French's Onion Rings as suggested in earlier reviews for a bit of crunch and it was a tad salty so next time I think I'll omit the parm cheese totally and use a ham that I'm sure is less salty. Other than those modifications I plan on making next time my husband absolutely LOVED it and I'll be sure to make this one again and again!

Chocolate Apple Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2002
I really enjoyed this one... Very good for the fall & winter seasons... Goes good with a glass of warm apple cider... I am not a "nut" fan so I made mine without and just loved it... I also completely forgot about the crumb topping and it turned out just fine... Next time I'll be sure to include that part of the recipe as I'm sure it would only make it better! This one will be a sure bet around the holidays...

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2002
This was a very good recipe! I followed the majority of the previous suggestions and cut the amount of white sugar in 1/2 and it was just right. Also, since my husband and I like a lot more of the crisp than the apples, I reduced the amount of the apples by about 2 cups so it was perfect for us. I will definately be making this again. I'm only wondering if it will work just as well for peaches as it did for apples?

Peanut Butter Temptations II

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2002
This was one of the best recipes I've found yet! My husband loved it! The only problem I had wasn't with the recipe it was with the peanut butter cups. When I was unwrapping them the chocolate was sticking to the wrappers and didn't want to come off in one piece so what I had to do instead was throw them in the fridge for about 10 mins before unwrapping them fully. I will DEFINATELY make this again! Very easy and very delicious!!! Thank You!

Potato Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2002
My mom used to make potato chip cookies and we all loved them. Unfortunately, her recipe went to the grave with her 16 years ago. I thought I hit the jackpot when I found this recipe. It wasn't like hers at all. However, it was easy, quick and not bad. Just not what I was hoping for...

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2002
I made this with leftovers from Easter dinner and it was fabulous! Come to find out this is something that my husbands mom used to make when he was a kid! It was extremely easy and good! My hubby told me I can make it anytime, not just when we have leftovers!

Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2002
This recipe took almost 3 times as long to cook as was stated. The cream of chicken soup being poured over the chicken rolls made it very hard to get the rolls cooked without being doughy. I had to cook for almost 45 mins before the rolls were close to being done. It did taste good, but I think next time I'll eliminate the soup and just cook the chicken rolls by themselves...

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2002
My husband uses Garlic Salt on EVERYTHING he eats (no joke) so I used about twice as much garlic salt as called for and also used a little pepper. I found it very easy and quick to make. He loved it!
