Dilled Garlic
I love the flavor, but two things happened that I was wondering how to deal with, so if anyone knows the answer, please help. The garlic is very strong and 2 or so cloves on their own give me a heartburn. Is it seasonal problem (winter garlic) & could it be fixed by blanching garlic before pickling? By whatever reason there are blue streaks on my garlic. Bright blue. Never remember that happening with my aunt's pickled garlic.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Neither big, nor chewy. Did the recipe with browning butter first, omitting the white sugar, and 1 cup of chips, 1 cup of nuts and dried cranberries. Chilled dough for about 2 hours in the fridge. The dough was very dry, even after I added a bit of canola oil to get the dough to at least HOLD together. They never flattened, and came out crumbly. I am wondering if it's my super-dry flour because I live in a region with very low humidity. I might have to add at least 1/4 cup of canola oil to it. And it ABSOLUTELY does NOT need 2 cups of mixings-in! To date I was unable to make any cookie chewy. They all come out crisp for me. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
