About this Cook
I don't cook much anymore. I am widowed and our children now have their own homes It is difficult for me to stand very long in the kitchen so use the microwave most of the time or the slow cooker. I live with my 4-legged fur child. I have two lovely daughters and three Granddaughters all grown up now. My hobby is photography.

Cookies is my thing! Before they became so popular I wanted to open a Cookie Shoppe
My favorite family cooking traditions
We raised our own chickens. Every Sunday I fried two of our Rode Island Reds, They weighed about 4 lbs each. After we had to sell out we tried buying chickens in the Market. We could barely finish one of them. There is no comparison between Free Range and Caged Chickens. My husband was a great cook and often fixed dinner, or something special. For Christmas My girls and I worked together making cookies & candies.
My cooking triumphs
Mainly my daughters Birthday Cakes that I decorated. A Christmas bunt cake I made for my Uncle. He was so proud of that.
My cooking tragedies
I fixed a lovely dinner for my fathers Birthday with Lemon Meringue Pie for desert. This was especially for my Dad, because that was his favorite. The dinner was perfect but when it came to the pie everyone had a funny look on their faces. I tasted and there was no flavor. I discovered then that I forgotten to include the lemon juice. We had Vanilla Meringue Pie. Fast fry a Rabbit, cover with Mushroom Soup and white wine. Cook on low heat until cooked through. DO NOT use red wine. Purple gravy is very unappetizing! One Christmas I made & decorated beautiful cookies with my Mom. Put them in a tin up on a shelf so no one would get into them early. Well, something did. Ants found a treasure trove and just moved in.

Dump Cake I
I make this often. It is quick and easy. Usually use for a Pot-Luck. Seldom any comes home, plus often asked for the recipe. This is the same recipe I have used for 20 years. Delicious!
