About this Cook
It's so much fun seeing how good you can make something or if you can make it BETTER than you remember it at a favorite restaurant and trying different recipes and learning what's going to taste good before you even make it!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking gourmet foods - the different blends of herbs, spices, and oils together to creat a delightful Mediterranean taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
So far the only cooking tradition my family has is dinner, lol! I have done a few holidays and I like to make on each the Gourmet Classic Sweet Potatoes for my hubby.
My cooking triumphs
Flan! Creme brulee!! I always thought it was too difficult, little did I know how easy it was ... and delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Gravy - first Christmas - had to try it FOUR times before it actually came out, lol. And the ham too!! That was a sad pathetic mess - lesson #1 in holiday cooking: BUY BONE-IN HAM - no other ham will do. lol!

French Crepes
Best crepe we've ever had! Left as is except added a tsp of vanilla. Served with Nutella, fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and whipped cream. Lined the pan with butter every few crepes and used about a 1/4 cup batter per crepe. About two minutes total to cook through - a minute and a half or so on one side and thirty seconds or less on the other side. Delicious!

Home-Fried Potatoes
This recipe was exactly what I was looking for when looking to make breakfast potatoes. I had to leave out quite a few of the ingredients as I was out, but it still came out beautifully. I only ended up using red potatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper, and paprika. I just learned to steam cut up and cubed potatoes in a small amount of water to cook them faster, which is what I did. I also accidentally added minced garlic to the water from changing directions after I had already added minced garlic to the potatoes, but it turned out to be a happy accident.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
This is the first five star recipe I've rated one star on allrecipes, but, sadly, they did not have the buttery chocolate chip cookie flavor that another reviewer who didn't enjoy them either talks about. Maybe all the cups of flour? They were also very, very dry. More like a cookie cake or brownie than a cookie.
