Chocolate Icebox Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
This is very good. Not a quick recipe to make though. The assembling is a little bit tricky. We actually got it wrong and then thought we made it wrong. We only were able to fill one loaf pan about half full with chocolate and then we noticed we cut the lady finger the wrong way. I assume it's supposed to be a very thin dessert. Everyone did love it and the choc. filling has a good flavor.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
I made this for my husband to take to work for a healthy option for birthday celebrations. Everyone loved it. I loved how easy it was. It's definitely a denser not super light and fluffy like angel food cake. Really good with cool whip.

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
very good recipe! I added half a large onion chopped up. I used 6 cups of beef broth instead of chicken. I also put about 1/4 of it in a blender at the end and pureed it. I also added the jalepeno pepper to the blender and I only used half a pepper. Very yummy with a little mexican cheese and sour cream on top.

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
I love this recipe and have been making it for years. I've used fat free cream cheese, fat free cool whip etc with no problems too. I never serve it in a flower pot, just a really deep bowl.

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
I threw this together with ingredients on hand for a quick get together. I used half sour cream and half maynoise. I used a little less mustard. I used granulated garlic and onion powder instead of what the recipe called for. I also used half mozz. and cheddar. I served it with big crunch croustini bread pieces and tortilla yips and it was definitely better with the tortilla chips.

Simple Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2007
I really liked this recipe. I only used 1 frozen container of spinach. I found that one regular size jar of spaghetti sauce was plenty. very good and I will make it again!

Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
I was wanting a recipe that I could tint several different colors for my daughter's b-day cake. This was perfect. When I went to make it, I realized I only had about 5 cups of powdered sugar. It turned out great and I didn't need to add the extra few Tablespoons of milk at the end. If I had added one more cup of powdered sugar, i can't imagine it turning out though. It was very yummy too!

Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This was very good. I used ground turkey instead of beef and put a little cumin in with the meat. I also used a packet mix to make the enchilada sauce, tasted much better and was cheaper than the premade canned. I also used whole grain tortillas.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
These turned out really well. They take awhile to make because you have to wait for them to set up before you can get them out and start another round in the same pan. Everyone loved them though!

Fudge Bonbons

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I wanted to find a recipe using up some Hershey kisses and this one was perfect. These were awesome, great warm and then great totally set up. The picture with the recipe does not do them justice and mine didn't look like that at all. They looked great and I sent them with my husband to work and everyone wants the recipe.

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2006
I scaled this back to 10 serving and it was great. It was very bitey so I might cut down the vinegar some next time.

Very good basic recipe. I used leftover chicken and low fat sour cream and cream of chicken soup. I left out the onions but did use fresh mushrooms. Very good!

Nana's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
This was the first apple crisp recipe that used oats and I really liked it. Also I took it a healthier direction using splenda, whole wheat flour and smart balance spread. I had to add more smart balance than butter because of the consistency of the topping but I'll be making this again next weekend with the rest of the apples...yumm!

Strawberry Salad II

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
I really like this recipe. It did turn out totally different than I expected though. You can cut the angel food cake in cubes but once you mix it all together it really shredds up and does not resemble cubes at all. I only used 8 oz. of cool whip and it was fine. It is a great low fat/low cal recipe. Sugar free straw. jello, fat free cool whip, fat free angel food cake, yummy dessert.

Broccoli Rice Side Dish

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
This side dish was awesome and so easy. I used the low fat cr. of chick soup, no onions or celery, fresh broccoli that I steamed and then I used a mix of shredded cheddar and mozz. cheese. Loved the topping of the french fried onions and the fact that it was done so quick in the microwave. I will make this again!

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2005
This was awesome. I found the recipe and we were eating it with some vanilla ice cream right out of the oven in about 50 minutes from the time I started thinking of making it. I used half brown sugar and half white, granny smith apples, only about 4 needed. I love a crisp w/out oats so if you don't like oats...this one is for you! FABULOUS!

Easy Stroganoff

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2005
This was awesome! This was the first time I had ever made stroganoff and we loved it. I made it for guests and I used 2 pounds of ground beef. Fresh mushrooms and onion too. I didn't have to add anymore soup or milk even w/ the 2 pounds of meat. I will definitely make it again!

Bou's Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2005
I LOVE this recipe. I have made it a few times. I love the flavor of the sauce. I've made it w/ mashed potatoes or rice. Even if you aren't going to use the sauce to eat, it flavors the chicken so well it's worth making it.
