About this Cook
I am a mom of 4, a wife, and a nurse. I come from a long line of good cooks. It wasn't until my 30's that I really started to love cooking. I could spend hours in the kitchen! I love planning menus for our parties, holidays, and everyday living. I enjoy trying new ideas, as well as incorporating my own touch to each recipe I make. One thing I always do while cooking is cleaning up as I go along.
My favorite things to cook
One of my favorite things to make is bread. I just love the way the dough feels on my hands when it becomes perfect! I also love to BBQ. My husband loves the fact I do all the grilling.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family has many recipes we prepare for holidays, that are always a tradition. Having a glass of wine while preparing dinner is one of my favorite traditions :)
My cooking triumphs
For me learning that timing is key for everything to be ready at mealtime was my main triumph.
My cooking tragedies
In my early years of cooking, I had Christmas dinner. The main course was meatballs. I didn't cook them thoroughly as my grandfather pointed out. So side dishes went cold while the meatballs cooked. Very embarrassing.

Famous Taco Seasoning Mix
This is one of the best homemade taco seasonings! My husband hates garlic and onion so I omitted those ingredients. I also add cumin. I make very large batches at a time! My family will not eat store bought taco seasoning again!

Grilled Chicken Breast with Cucumber and Pepper Relish
Great recipe......For the relish, I used cilantro instead of parsley and added 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar and a pinch of sugar. That really added some flavor!

French Bread
I LOVE this recipe! Ive been making it once a week for a month now!!! I do add a little more salt, and 2 tbsp melted butter. It stays fresh in a zip lock bag for a week! Even cut into pieces. Makes yummy french toast as well! Thanks for this keeper!
