I made an awesome "Black Magic" chocolate cake for my hubby's birthday! I won a family soup cook-off with a broccoli cheese soup recipe I found on this website.
My cooking tragedies
I burn a lot of garlic bread... just get distracted and before ya know it ... I smell something BURNT!

Lemon Butter Cookies
I am a huge fan of most anything lemon! However, these did not come out anything like what I was expecting! First of all the dough was too sticky for me to roll it out, even after adding a lot more flour. I ended up pressing it flat with my finger tips. After cooking them, the taste was not what I was looking for at all. The sugar on top did not seem to help much, but maybe some frosting would help. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or what, but I do not plan to make these again.

Broccoli Cheese Soup V
This is a wonderful recipe! I won our family soup cook-off today & this is the recipe I used. I did make it my own by adding 5 coves of garlic (crushed), real butter instead of margarine, then I used 2 cups of the cheddar cheese sauce from Sams Club & 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese & a handful of motzerella. I also used about 1/2 cup of half & half. I did not use the white pepper, but did use some black pepper & salt. I guess I chaned it a lot, but this recipe was my starting place. This soup turned out so delicious!!!
