Meat Pie (Tourtiere)
Tourtiere has become a traditional dish at our quite international Christmas table. I have been making it for several years. I don't like pork, so I use 1/2 beef + 1/2 turkey - comes out just as delicious. One can also use pumpkin spice since it has a perfect blend of the required spices!

Uzbek Plov (Lamb and Rice Pilaf)
I used beef, since it was the only meat I had at the time, as well as generous amount of olive oil. I also used pre-mixed spices for plov that I bought in a Russian store. BTW, you can find dried barberries there as well for cheap. This is a good recipe!

Black Beans and Rice
It is nice and simple. I did, however, used the reviews and substituted vegetable broth for chicken broth. I added lots of cayenne pepper to spice it up. Great and simple addition to the main dish!
