Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
I made this according to the recipe, except I used dark chocolate rather than semi-sweet and was NOT disappointed! As another person already stated, the reviewer who called this a "frosting for grown ups" was so right! I'm not a big frosting fan, but this tasted like truffles. It was amazing!

I added bacos, shredded cheese, and diced onion to this. I cooked them as muffins for 12 min at 375. They were quite tasty!

Seminary Muffins

Reviewed: May 22, 2013
I used whole wheat pastry flour, cut the brown sugar in half, used dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet, and added nutmeg, allspice, and ground ginger instead of just cinnamon. Oh my goodness... best muffin ever! (as far as healthy-ish muffins go anyway. I could very easily eat way too many of these. Of of my favorite things to bake now!

Delicious Cinnamon Baked Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
In truth, I only used this recipe as a guide, but it was very good! I used 12 small apples from my tree, as well as an unmeasured amount of butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and quick oats. I followed the cooking time, laying, and water parts of the recipe. Once it was done, I stirred in vegan whipped topping that I made. My family really enjoyed it. I will be making this again, but with more butter and quick oats next time.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2012
As many have said, a good starter recipe. I used 2 Tbsp tahini, a little more olive oil, no paprika, dried parsley flakes mixed in (instead of fresh as a garnish, 1 tsp cumin, a dash of black pepper, and an unmeasured amount of onion powder. Very yummy! But I really think the onion powder is a must.

Unbelievably Easy Slow Cooker Black Forest Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
So simple! So yummy! I didn't have cherry pie filling, so I used strawberry preserves. I don't think I used enough of it, because I couldn't really taste it. After about two hours, I stirred it to get the dry batter mixed in with the wet, and I also turned it up to high at that point.

Mushroom and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2012
I made MANY alterations, but that was just because I do that with ALL recipes. I used 1/2 lb of sliced mushrooms, 3 entire sliced leeks, didn't measure the margarine or oil (used grape seed oil), 7 sliced green peppers, 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 cup cooking sherry, 32 oz low sodium vegetable broth, 1 Tbsp chicken better than bouillon, 2 cups water, generous sprinkling of onion powder and garlic powder, 2 cups of dry orzo pasta, and an unmeasured amount of salt, pepper, and cumin. It was more of a moist pasta dish than a soup, but it was sooooo delicious!!!! Next time, I will use more mushrooms, and many less orzo, so I have more broth.

I used vegetable broth instead of water and boullion. And I used soy curls as my chicken substitute. This was quite good, and VERY easy.

Spinach Enchiladas Verde

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
I layered it because I couldn't get the tortillas to roll. I also added mushrooms (which I sauted in butter with the spinach. And I used green enchilada sauce instead of salsa as well as colby jack cheese instead of monterey jack cheese. And I added onion powder and garlic powder. It was DELICIOUS! My husband and brother and I all REALLY enjoyed it. Thanks for the great, easy recipe!

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I used diced apple instead of dates and also added cinnamon. So yummy! It tasted like oatmeal, apple, banana bread pieces. I made them as a gift for my diabetic mother, but I can imagine they would be a big hit with the kids too. Easy, yummy, healthy! What more can you ask for?

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2011
This was excellent! I put it over ratatouille. I did end up using more garlic (because I LOVE garlic), adding a little brown sugar as well as extra salt and some onion powder and garlic powder at the end. That brought it from very good to perfect!

I used ground ginger in place of fresh and truvia in place of sugar. This is great!!!!! Quick and easy. A guilt free snack that I like to use instead of chips when I'm dieting.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
The title is right! Without any alterations, this is a great recipe. I made this a while back and was just now searching for it to make it again. I'm going to serve it for a birthday cake for my brother. I think I'll try the half applesauce half oil this time. Now I just have to figure out which ice cream to serve with it.

Greek Seasoning

I used onion power and garlic powder instead of minced and added these spices to melted butter and oil to marinade my chicken in for chicken pitas. It gave it a wonderful flavor!
