Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2002
This was good, however the second time I made it with homemade vegtable broth instead of water and it turned out much better. I really think it was worth the extra effort.

Spring Strawberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2001
Cut the oil down to 1/2 Cup! The dressing is fantastic, although I suggest adding toasted pecans and thin sliced red onion to the salad.

Hearty Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2001
This turned out okay, although I might have liked it better if I wasn't expecting a tuna noodle casserole. It was uhm... different, although tasty. The tomatoes on top helped to zest it up alot.

Rochelle Sable

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2001
These cookies turned out much better than I thought they would. I just made them because I had hard-boiled eggs left over from easter. They had an excellent light and pastry-like texture, while the orange zest gave them a really delightful flavor. I will absolutly make them again.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2001
This pizza was okay, but not fantastic. Although the flavor was pretty good, I thought that the ranch dressing made the crust soggy and tough.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2001
I just made this recipe with a boneless pork rib loin and I really liked it. The inside wasn't very spicy so I ended up putting it back in the sauce to sit for about half an hour after I shredded it. It had a great flavor!

Chicken Curry I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2001
This recipe wasn't bad, but it didn't taste like typical curry. I found it spicy hot, but still somewhat bland. I don't think I will make this again.

Oriental Green Bean Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2000
This was a very spicy and flavorful dish. You may want to adjust the red pepper to your own tastes though. My version turned out a little too spicy for me. I'll definetly make this again, but with less pepper next time!

Grilled Vegetables in Balsamic Tomato Sauce with Couscous

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2000
I was disappointed in this dish. The sauce was overwhelming and none of the vegtables retained an individual flavor or texture.

Quick Stuffed Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2000
This recipe had a really good flavor, but the texture was pretty mushy. I think adding some pine nuts would give it a nice crunch. Also, I ate it as the main course. As side dish with something else chewier, it might be better.

Famous Japanese Restaurant-Style Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 20, 2000
This salad dressing tastes just like the one that is served at Japanese steak houses. I was suprised at how well all the ingredients blended together to make a fresh and mildly spicy flavor. The preparation is a little extensive for family dinner most nights, but it would impress guests at a dinner party. You could make it up a few days ahead of time too. If you have a little extra time, this recipe is worth trying. Note: It is importent to use Rice Vinegar (which adds a sweet flavor) and not just regular vinegar.
