Scones

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Yummy easy scones with ingredients you already have. I added 1/2 cup slivered almonds (delicious) but raisins, dried cherries, cranberries or apriots would all be tasty additions. Perfect with my morning coffee!

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
I was searching for an EASY twist on the classic red box of brownies...this recipe is IT! I followed the usual directions for boxed brownies, then made the peanut butter marbled topping and swirled it on top. No changes needed - it was moist and delicious! I took these to a party and none were left! YUM-O!

Honey Wheat Bread III

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
This bread is worth taking the time to make! It is DELICIOUS! The first time I made the bread, I discovered I was out of whole wheat flour so I substituted it for bread flour. This change made an OUTSTANDING white bread. The next time I followed the recipe to a "t" (other than canola oil instead of vegetable oil). I put the bread in a round non-stick cake pan instead of a loaf pan. It turned out amazing! I would highly recommend using this recipe. YUM!

Butternut and Acorn Squash Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
Warning: I definitely made some changes to the recipe but I know it would have been delish as is, too! I peeled/cut/steamed an apple and two pears to add to the squash. I used two large butternut squashes to yield a big batch - so you'll notice I increased some ingredients here. I swapped out the cream cheese for about 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream. Instead of the stock it called for, I used 2 cups of vegetable broth. (I'm vegetarian.) I also increased the cinnamon to 1 1/2 teaspoons. I omitted the onion. I realize this is a lot of modifications, but WOW. It is a creamy, sweet, delicious soup! I can't get enough of it!

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
Very easy and tasty pizza sauce for a beginner like me! A little honey or agave nectar makes for a slightly sweeter sauce. Add minced garlic or garlic salt if you like garlicky pizza sauce. This was tasty and yielded a lot - so prepare to refridgerate or freeze some for another night!

Chocolate Babka

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
This is our new Easter tradition! From now on, I will bring this delicious babka to brunch. It is SO decadent - reminds me of chocolate-filled croissants I've had in France. The babka is worth the preparation time. If you're a beginner, don't worry, you got this! This one is a crowd pleaser and definitely fitting for special occasions like birthdays, showers, or holiday celebrations. When you add the slits in the side of the pastry, it makes for easy pull-apart serving. Gooey and delish, you will LOVE the chocolate babka!

Steven's Baked Nachos

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
It doesn't get better than this! Insanely easy to make - we omitted the olives - but SO yummy! It's hard to find a good nacho recipe, but this one's a keeper!

Jalepeno Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Tasted great but the texture was weird. You could hardly scoop it with a chip - which is a problem in my books!

S'more Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
HOLY DESSERT HEAVEN! I made these for Father's Day and won the permanent best wife award! I don't know why so many people had issues with the recipe. I followed it exactly (except I used 6 chocolate bars, not 8) and it turned out scrumptious. Thank you for bestowing this brownie-turned-s'more recipe on me!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
This recipe is easy and delish! The dough is perfect for the calzone. I switched out the cheddar for mozzerella cheese with the ricotta. You could fill the dough with anything you want, though. Keep in mind that these get HUGE when they cook so what looks like a small calzone will be mammoth when it's done. This is a great meal for any night but would also impress guests!
