Great British Fry Up

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
A few things. It's important to use Heinz baked beans in a teal blue can. Also, get back bacon from the butcher if possible instead of strip bacon. I worked in the UK for just over a year and greatly miss three things: an english breakfast, a good gammon ham steak, and a pint of green king abbott ale.

This was great. The key is to use fresh corn.

Pork Chops with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
This was awesome! I cooked two center cut pork chops and used the same amount of other ingredients. The sauce tastes alot like a cacciatore sauce. I agree with a previous reviewer that it would be great with chicken.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
Very good bavarian style meal. I used 1 lb turkey smoked sausage and 1 lb. turkey kielbasa. It made it lighter and no one knew until I had told them afterwards. It was not oily as other reviewers mentioned. Also added garlic and onion to the crockpot and cooked 5-6 hrs on low. Will make it again.

This was awesome. I made it for a poker game. Next time I would add more chicken and use lowfat cream cheese. Served with Chips and crackers.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
This was awesome! I bought a spiral sliced ham that was on sale and made it using this glaze. I used pinapple juice from a can of pinapple. I minced up some of the pinapple and made a sauce using some of the same ingredients from the glaze. I think I have converted my wife to like ham!

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2006
I made this a couple weeks ago for just two people. It was great that night and for leftovers the next few days. I used no-boil lasagna noodles because of earlier comments about there being too much liquid. It turned out perfect. The feta added depth. Only a couple modifications: I used regular crumbled feta and added italian spices to it. I used 1 can of artichokes hearts (in water) and 1 small jar marinated in oil. I added about a cup of shredded mixed monterey jack/cheddar b/c I did not have enough mozzarella.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2006
Very good weeknight dinner. I added a pinch of cayenne pepper to the bread crumb mixture to add a little spice. Will definitely make again when I need to use up chicken on weeknights. I also make bread crumbs from 1-2 day old bread and freeze. It's great so it's on-hand when needed.

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2006
These were great sandwiches. I used low sodium soy sauce after seeing other reviews comments on it being too salty. I shreaded the meat and put it on panini bread and melted swiss cheese under the broiler.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2006
Good for chocolate lovers. I used Girahdeli brownie mix which I think put it over the top. I also made my own whipped cream. I probably would not make it again.

I added frozen chopped spinach as other reviewers mentioned and it was very good. Different, but good. I will definitely make again in the future.
