Alan's Pie Crust
This was so delicious and flaky and light and rich. Just wonderful. I made it in a KitchenAid mixer and let the flour, shortening and butter mix to the size of peas. Then added the water (ice cold) by tablespoons until it came together. I think less than 1/3 cups was used because I love in a humid environnent. Didn't leave it in the fridge for the full 2 hours either. Just let it rest there while I did other things. I used it to make sausage rolls for a quick breakfast. So tasty. Just excellent. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Easter Buttermilk Hot Cross Buns
This was a wonderful recipe. I followed the ingredients and method almost exactly. I didn't let it rise as long as suggested. I let it rise 30 minutes to start and then about 15 minutes the second time. The buns were light but just enough body for me to really enjoy. I made me own frosting with icing sugar, vanilla and milk. Really good.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies
What a tasty little treat. Definitely melts in your mouth. I must admit that I did use the modified recipe other posters mentioned as I remembered shortbread has a 1 butter to double the flour ratio. I made about 7 batches in 3 days. They were that good. Well, I also made them for a birthday party and they were a hit. I did add a little vanilla and piped them out, topping them with sprinkles or chocolate chips. I baked until the edges turned brown. They travel well and none broke before getting to our mouths. Will definitely be making again.
