Overall this recipe is pretty good but to me it isn't true biscotti. I wanted to give it a try as the reviews are awesome but found I had to modify it quite a bit. I think the oil makes it easier to cut but using butter gives it better flavor, I also found that I had to add quite a bit of flour to be able to get a good working consitency as it was originally too runny... maybe just use egg yolk next time as in other biscotti recipes? I originally tried to refrigerate the dough but that did not help. I also didn't use anise but instead used rum extract and added cranberries and lemon zest despite this though it still turned out a bit bland and I think I will have to put a zesty lemon icing over top to give it some more flavor. I might try this again but to me it needs some work. Very simple recipe however, a good start if you are just learning to make biscotti.

Double Chocolate Biscotti
AMAZING!!!! Biscotti is one of my specialties and this recipe is great! I think the key is to use really good quality chocolate chips, I used Bernard Callebaut chocolate chips both white and dark and this biscotti turned out to be by far the best chocolate biscotti I have ever made. I think next time I might use only dark chocolate and add maraschino cherries into the mix.

Cranberry Orange Cookies
These turned out quite good but I think I did something wrong though because they came out a little too soft and fluffy but I couldn't keep them in the oven for longer or else they would have burn. Having said that, the flavor was great and my husband seemed to really like them too. I doubled the organge zest. I also didn't bother with the icing because this was my trial batch.
