I'm a 30 yr old mom of an awesome 20 month old daughter, she's inspiring me to cook and eat better for our whole family. lately I'm trying to make things for myself instead of buying, homebrewing beer, making my own pasta sauce, and now I'm onto bread!

My favorite family cooking traditions
My Memere (french grandmother) puts angel hair pasta as a layer in her Pot de chinios (yellow dish in french) sp? that's what we call shepard's pie...you wouldn't think it would make much of a difference but whenever I make it for people they love it!

figuring out how to make a good pie crust finally!!!
My cooking tragedies
when I started out cooking, I tried making a roast in the crock pot and I kept "checking on it" and lifting the lid...duh!!!! It took forever to cook! lesson learned! haha

Super Crunch Oven Cooked Honey Dipped Wings
If you love crunchy wings that are perfectly cooked and still moist inside than look no further...you could swear they were fried except that they are no greasy, which is a good thing. We followed the recipe up until the honey coating which we did a hot mango chutney instead and they were fantastic. You could put any sauce you like and they'd be great but I will try them with the honey sauce sometime.

Amish White Bread
amazing...I made this in a breadmachine, halved the recipe but with just 1/4 of sugar like someone else suggested. I used the dough setting, let it rise in a greased pan, covered with a damp kitchen towel on the stove as the oven pre-heated for 30 min. Then baked for 30min @ 350 exactly and it came out beautifully! The best bread I've ever made, fluffy and just slightly sweet. I will be making and eating a lot of this!

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins
these are pretty good, I am eating one fresh out of the oven as I write this...I love the texture and size of this muffin. Great flavor also, although I like my muffins a little bit sweeter than this so I think I'll try some brown sugar as someone else suggested and a slightly lower temp. maybe 400 for 20-25, in my oven I had to shut it off with 10 min to go because the bottoms were all browned up but the top, nothing and they appeared to be done but I wasn't sure, but they are very good with a little butter on them!
