Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2012
Family raved about this! Served it with little new potatoes and a salad. Definitely added to the family cook-book! We use our slow cooker a lot, so this is a bonus!

Cornbread Pancakes

Sounds yummy! I don't keep buttermilk around the house, and I don't like the taste when you try to sour sweet milk. However yogurt works just as well. Just add 1/2 cup of sweet milk to thin it out. I use whatever flavour I have on hand. My family love them.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
Family loved it! I think the next time I make it I'll use the boneless skinless thighs for more flavour. And for the type of slow cooker I have, one package of biscuits will be enough. Yummm!

Sylvia's Easy Greek Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
If you use balsamic vinegar with this and 1/8 tsp crushed aniseed, it will have that authentic "Greek" taste you get in a good restaurant. Think I'm going to have this salad for dinner tonight!

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
You can use just about any kind of string pasta for this recipe. My family prefer it without the pepper flakes. The original recipe was called Pasta al la Pavarotti. Makes a great side dish for nearly everything.

Apple Blue Cheese Salad

Made my own balsamic vinaigrette. Made it with a HUGE bowl of romaine lettuce. We were having an "Italian night" so the seasoning on the BBQ pork chops was Italian, and I served it with lightly buttered fusili. Family raved over it!

Omelet in a Mug

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I've been doing this for years. Best kind of mug is one of those mugs designed for soup; they're deeper and your egg won't bubble over during the first cooking session. We prefer chopped green onions to the green peppers. This is great for nights when you're not all that hungry. Yummy!

Pork Chops with Delicious Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2011
Family consensus was that it needed a bit of a 'Kick' - something more spicy is needed. It's a little bland. Perhaps a shot of hot sauce?

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
This looks like a recipe I had before I was married. Plain yogurt thinned with about 1/4 cup milk works when you don't have buttermilk. Sometimes I use the fruit yogurts for an extra treat.

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2011
Hubby accidentally took out pork tenderloin, so I cut them into medalions. ! A little Dijon mustard as a condiment at the side just added to the flavour. I plated the medallions, and poured the sauce over spaghetti. These were dee-lish - family just raved over them. I can imagine doing up porkchops properly would taste equally wonderful!

Pork Tenderloins with Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
The amount of rosemary called for overpowered the tenderloin, and my family isn't a big fan of rosemary to begin with. I'll try it again, but I'm going to use dillweed, which has a more delicate taste.
