Since I am a Type II diabetic, I have to be very careful about the carbohydrate content of what I cook. I love Italian and Oriental cuisine, but I have to watch the sauces! I love baking homemade bread - my sourdough starter is over 30 years old, and I've kept it alive that long!
My favorite things to cook
I love a good pork roast with a nice salad (I vary the type of salad). I am very fond of fresh home baked bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey, mashed turnips and mincemeat tarts for Christmas, Ham, Scalloped potatoes and pumpkin chiffon pie for Easter. Have a super dressing for poultry that is made in a slow cooker, and you'd never know the difference. Much healthier too.

Chicken with a chocolate sauce of some kind. A total disaster both in appearance and taste!
