Warm Apple Buttermilk Custard Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
OMG!!! This was great! If you are a fan of custard, you have to try this. I didnt have buttermilk so I made my own with vinegar and milk. Turned out perfect. Did cut back the sugar slightly also.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Just a warning....this batter is thick and almost like glue. I thought I did something wrong until I read someone else's review about it being thick to hold the blueberries in place. It did! No berries on the bottom! I did add a 1/2 tsp vanilla, although I am not sure it made any difference. I also did not use muffin liners. I used crisco and flour in 6 jumbo muffin tins. The muffins came out just fine....no issues with them sticking.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Turned out good. this is the second time I made it. The first time I made a crust of nilla wafers. This time I didnt have the wafers on hand so I just used a basic pie crust recipe. BUT....I did use 3 tbls of cornstarch instead of flour. I also used 1 1/2 cups 2% milk and 1/2 cup of heavy cream. baked for about 10-12 mins.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
GREAT pie!!! I used a homemade crust I got on here and omited the raisins. I did use the walnuts but added them to the streusel instead of to the apples. It was super easy and OMG delicious. I actually got accused of serving store bought. But no store could top this. I used the basic flaky pie crust recipe on here and it was easy and flaky and light. PERFECT for this pie

Evelyn's Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
This all in all was a good recipe. The cookies turned out great, and no need to refridgerate the dough before rolling ( a great time saver). However I did add a tsp of vanilla extract (kinda surprised it didnt call for vanilla or almond extract?) not sure how they would have turned out without it. Also you really did have to add ALOT of flour to the dough when kneading it. ALOT of flour, so it was messy. I had so much dough sticking to me and everything. But once you got the consistancy right....it rolled out SUPER EASY!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
Perfect crust! It was flaky and so easy to make. I must admit this was the first crust I ever made. Usually buy the store crust. I was terrified of making my own. But I did this, it was easy and turned out great!

Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was a basic recipe....great base but needed to alter the entire thing. Or it would have been very, very bland. I used 1 lb of 95/5 hamburger and minced fresh garlic to fry in the pan with the meat. Then used smart macaroni noodles (14.5 oz box). Then used the can of beanless chili, along with about 6 oz of tomato sauce, about 3/4 cup medium salsa, and a few dashes of hot sauce along with the pack of taco seasoning. Also added a 4oz can of green chilis. Like others said topped off with about a cup of finely shredded xsharp cheddar cheese. I omitted the corn and tomatoes.

Deep-Dish Peach Custard Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was soooooo good. I made during the winter months so fresh peaches wasnt an option. I used a large can of sliced peaches in pear juice, drained. It turned out wonderful. good presentation and delicious! Will be making this often...esp in the summer with fresh peaches! And had no problem with this running over.

Turkey Burger Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
Good basic low fat recipe. Very bland unless you doctor it up. I used fresh minced garlic, chili powder and ground cumin when browing the turkey. Then I used the southwest egg beaters (red pepper, green pepper, and onion in them) and a 4oz can of diced green chilis. Also used a taco seasoned monteray jack and cheddar cheese mixture.

Almost Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
I never made stuff peppers but was craving them and I started searching recipes and came across this one. I did follow some of the ideas I read in the reviews and changed it up a bit. It turned out exellent...better than stuffed peppers without the hassle. And a cinch for my toddlers to eat. I used the following ingredients: 1.20lb of 95/5 ground beef 2 cloves fresh garlic minced (did not use onion) 2cups water 1/2 can (7oz) of italian flavored diced tomatoes (basil, garlic, and oregano) 2- 8oz cans tomato sauce 1/2 tsp seasoning salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/4 tsp italian seasoning 2 cups instant white rice Followed the recipe exactly as stated but with my ingredients...except I cooked the fresh garlic in olive oil and then browned the meat in the pan after the garlic was cooked.

Magic Lemon Pie

This was good and easy to make. I did double the recipe for the merangue, like suggested in other reviews. I also had to add a little sugar to it to get it to stiffen.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This was a fantastic dish. My husband and I love spicy dishes so I added a little crushed red pepper to add some more flavor. I served it over angel hair. I have been using all recipes for some time and this dish actually made me leave my first review. Enjoy!
