Olive Cheese Melts

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
Tasty but a bit salty. I thnk there is plenty of sodium in the cheese and olives so next time I will omit the added salt. Made these as an accompaniment to green salad for a litght meal and it was a nice change of pace.

Artichoke & Black Olive Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2006
This was good but I thought it could use a little something to boost the flavor. Experimentation is in order.

Krissy's Easy Chocolate Triple Layer Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
This was a tasty twist on pudding pie but essentially thats all it is--pudding and cool whip. An easy, chocolatey dessert but nothing spectacular.

Marinated Rosemary Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
I wasn't crazy about this, but I think its just a matter of personal taste. Although I love lemon, I'm not sure I like it paired with chicken. Worth trying, though.

Dried Cherry Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2006
This is indeed a good coffee cake. Nice flavor and excellent texture. Next time I will chop my cherries more finely since they all sunk to the bottom of my cake. I think this would also be good with other dried fruits--particularly apricots or nectarines. I might also try adding a little butter and flour to the topping mixture for more of a crumb-style topping. However, its a yummy recipe just as written.

Best Ever Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Lovely cake-like texture. I like these a lot, but next time I won't add so much vanilla. Cut back on the sugar if you don't like very sweet corn bread.

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
I have made this soup several times now. I can only give it three stars because as written, it is a little bland. However, it is a good place to start from if you want to make your own additions. I bake my chicken with rosemary, salt and pepper before adding it to the soup. I also like to add carrots and garlic to the broth at the boiling stage. I add extra noodles and chicken because I like a chunky soup. After the first time, I left out the cornstarch and cooked the noodles right in the soup. Never turns out the same way twice, but always good. Thanks for a good "starter" recipe.

Spiced Yogurt Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2005
My cake fell in the middle! :( But I blame myself for opening the oven early in the baking to check on it. Never-the-less, this is a very tasty, moist cake. It is lighter than a traditional pound cake and delicately spiced. Those who like their cakes very spicy may wish to increase the amount of spices slightly. After trying it plain (which was delicious!) I brushed on a lemon glaze made with 1 cup powdered sugar and 3 TBS lemon juice. I will definitely try this cake again.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
As written, I thought this potato salad was a little bland. I let it sit overnight to give the flavors a chance to blend but wound up having to punch it up a little with the addition of more salt and pepper and a little mustard before taking it to a party. It's a good starter recipe though, and I'm glad I tried it.

Candy Bar Fudge

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2005
This is a delicious candy that I will likely make again when it gets to be the holiday candy season. I took it to work and had several requests for the recipe. I lined the pan with foil before greasing so that I could easily remove the entire chunck of chilled fudge from the pan before cutting. I took the suggestions of other reviewers and used only 1 1/2 cups peanuts. I also returned the peanut/caramel mixture to the microwave for 30 seconds to keep it spreadable and that worked out very well. This is a very easy (and very good) candy to make.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
I'm glad I tried this recipe and overall, I did like it, but I felt like something was missing. Artichoke hearts and/or fresh mushrooms might be a good addition. It's one to experiment with.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
Although I like honey, I didn't care for it in the frosting portion of this recipe. Other than that, this a fine basic recipe, but I have others I like better. These are not bad, I like a thicker, chewier brownie.

Potato Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2005
These were easy and tasty! However, next time I will add some salt and pepper to the potato mixture. And while part of me would like to lighten these up by using low-fat cheese an alternative cooking method for the tortillas, another part of me is already thinking about how really excellent crumbled up bacon would be when added to the potato mixture. I will definitely be making/experimenting with these again.

Peachy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2005
Maybe I just have too many delicious recipes for porkchops but I was not overly impressed with this recipe. Nevertheless, it was easy to make and worth trying. It had a nice flavor, but I will probably not be adding this to my recipe box.

These were tasty cookies. Definitely best served the same day as they are baked. I agree with the previous reviewer who thought they lost flavor the second day. Quite good overall.
