Wicked Good Veggie Chili

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
Loved this recipe. I only cut back on some of the spices since I don't like real hot dishes. Used only 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp gr cumin...omitted the cayenne, but used 2 drops of the sriracha chili sauce. I used 1 can of kidney beans and 1 can of cannellini beans. Used a yellow pepper since that is what I had. VERY TASTY AND THE SPICE WAS JUST RIGHT. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WONDERFUL RECIPE.

Amazing Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
This was my first attempt for whole wheat pizza crust and it was DELICIOUS. It was far better than some of the better local pizza shoppe's whole wheat. The only thing I did differently was to replace the sugar with honey, I added about 1 tsp of oregano. I prebaked the crust for about 10 minutes and then added my ingredients and cooked another 15 minutes until the crust was crispy and brown. I added carmelized onions, tomatoes, mozzarella and goat cheeses and fresh basil. I drizzled it with mushroom/sage EVOO. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe.

Robin's Quinoa with Mushrooms and Spinach

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
I made this for company and it got rave reviews. I had prepared everything up to adding the spinach. Just before serving it, I added more chicken broth to reheat the quinoa, then I added the spinach to wilt it and served it with the crumbled goat cheese. Would make it again.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I made this tonight with a few modifications and loved it. I added fresh garlic with the onions. Diced 1/2 of a large green pepper, 2 carrots cut up. Used chicken stock instead of the water. Added 1 can of Pinto beans, drained and rinsed. Added 1/2 can of Tomato paste and 1 small can of MILD Green Chilies. Reduced the cayenne pepper to 1/4 tsp, but that is my taste. Added 1 tsp sugar and about 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. I mixed all the spices together and then added them to the onion/turkey mixture after that had cooked. Mixed thoroughly then added the rest of the ingredients. I left the lid partially off so that the chili would reduce and get thicker. I left it cook for 1 hour. IT WAS EXCELLENT

Chocolate Bar Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
My daughter brought this pie to our 4th celebration and it was absolutely delicious. She used the chocolate bars without the almonds since not everyone likes nuts. We served it right from the frig, but after she left we put the remaining pie into the freezer. Of course I had to try it again, and I LOVED IT FROM THE FREEZER. This is a keeper.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
This was excellent, but be certain to put pie pan on a cookie sheet covered with foil, because the juices will run over. I did add about 1 TBSP of cornstarch to the mixture since it looked very juice. WAS PERFECT served with vanilla ice cream. Thank you for sharing Terri.

Apple Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2010
I made this for Easter Dinner today and just tasted it after standing overnight. I did add some extra Savoy cabbage to it and added a little more mayo. Let me tell you, I am not a cole slaw lover, but this is just wonderful. I can't wait for my guests to try it. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

Cyndi's Shrimp Fajitas

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
My daughter made this for my birthday dinner and it was delicious. Nice change from a heave meal and the flavors were wonderful. She cut back on the onion since it looked like a lot, but after tasting, we decided we could have added more onion. REALLY LIKE THIS AND WILL MAKE MYSELF. Thanks for the recipe.

Prosciutto Fave Minestrone alla Riso

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
I made this soup recipe this cold weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Flavor was great. I used fresh tomatoes since I didn't have canned. Added a bay leaf and used dried peas instead of canned since I had them. I did soak the beans in boiling water for a few hours. I think the next time I would like to add some Kielbasi for additional flavor. I would make again.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Was looking for a fast, easy cake to make for a birthday party at work. Birthday boy requested a chocolate PNB cake, so I am going to try this one. After it sits awhile, I will spread some peanut butter on it. Cool in the frig and then frost with a chocolate butter cream frosting. Now how bad can that be? NEXT DAY. THE OFFICE LOVED IT. THIS IS A KEEPER FOR ME.

Annie's Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I made this this morning for lunch today and had to give it a taste. I don't usually experiment with recipes I have never made before, but with the rave reviews I just had to try it. After tasting for the first time, I said... hummmm let me taste it again. I am amazed at the combination of ingredients that blended together so well. Now I can't wait for my daughter and her husband to come for lunch. This is a real treat. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe. If I could give it a 10 I would. I halved the recipe.. I, too, added a stalk of celery sliced thinly, used 3 cups of smoked turkey, leftover from Thanksgiving (vacuum sealed and frozen, of course), only 1 hard cooked egg and a dash of sweet paprika. Used a combination of dijonaisse and regular mayo with salt and pepper to taste. Next time, I will add a little of fresh dill just for a little change. But I see this recipe as being very versatile and you can add what you want. I LOVED IT.

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I am not a ham lover but I got a free ham from out local store and thought I'd make it for our Easter Celebration. This recipe was wonderful. I changed the glaze slightly using 1/3 cup butter, 1/2 cup of light brown sugar and 1/2 cup of honey. I scored the ham and used the cloves. I basted every 10 minutes. This ham was so flavorful and juicy that I would make it again. I mixed the glaze ingredients together and microwaved it until heated and then kept it on the back of the stove. He was warm enough there since the oven was on. Can't get any easier. Thank you Colleen for sharing your wonderful recipe.

Really enjoyed this. Nice and moist with just a hint of orange. Even though I baked it at 350 Degrees, I found it needed much more time than that. But would make this again.. Thanks for sharing.

Garlic Cheese Flatbread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
I really enjoyed this. I actually made it in the early afternoon for dinner. This reheated well in a 350 degree oven. I also added a little oregano, but any herb would work well. Sun dried tomatoes would made a nice addition to the top. I would suggest to proof the yeast before continuing.

Italian Love Cake

I was not happy with the results. The cheese mixture which did go to the bottom was very wet. The Chocolate cake was baked completely. I will not make this again. I took it to a gathering and it was not a favorite. Sorry.
