Nice and easy with a good taste. We don't care for avocado so I did not use that but the rest was good together

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
I cut the recipe to 4 servings as it is only my husband and I and we thought it turned out great. Very flavorful with evrything blending well. We had plenty left over which I have frozen and will reheat in a couple weeks and see how it is then.

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
My husband loves these. They are good and fall right off the bone. Because they are pork chops, they really are not what I would call moist but I have never tried a recipe where pork chops ever come out moist. This at least makes them soft enough that is makes up for that.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
I thought this was easy and tasty. I followed others advies to line the pan and cover it during the first half of cooking. I also substituted the sugar with Splenda and only use about 1/8 cup. I used thighs which I think went really well with this and were so tender. I may double the sauce next time but otherwise this will be made again in my house.

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Yummy. I was afraid it would not be sweet enough so I took suggestions of adding 1 egg yolk and using 1/2 cup of suger and it came out amazing. I started it in the bread machine and I do not have a sweet bread setting so I just used the dough setting and once done I took out and put in a round cake pan since real Portuguese sweet bread is made that way. I was a bit nervous as it was quite sticky but I resisted the urge to throw in more flour and am glad I did not give in. I let it sit and rise for 30 more minutes and then baked at 350 for 25 minutes. It is just right in the middle. This is really good and easy for a home made version.

Lasagna Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Good alternative to full blown lasagna. The only thing I did different was to add some of the meat mixture (i made a little more than called for) within each rollup. Made it a little messy to roll but I think worth it.

Habanero Heat Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Loved the fl;avor for this but we used as a dipping type sauce fro grilled veggies that I made. I put it on a garden salad and the taste did not seem to work all that well so maybe a different type of salad would be better. I really did love it as the dipping sauce and willmake it again for that for sure.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
The cooking method is what is important here - you can use anything on the ribs - sauce, dry rub whatever but they are really moist and tender cooking this way.

Easy Baked Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2008
Good, easy dinner. I will not use the lemon next time and will put a little more Old Bay on it. I'm not a big fan of lemon on my fish but wanted to try the recipe as is first time around. I also used fresh broccoli and cauliflower and it came out just right. Will make again.

Antipasto Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This was great for our holiday party. I did follow advice to pre-bake the bottom and I dried the ham and red peppers as well as I could. I added black olives to half of it and I also subbed mozz for swiss as I do not care for it. I served it in small pieces with warm marinara sauce and it was a hit. Thanks

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
Has good flavor. I used 1 1/2 packages of the cheese as well as fresh broccoli and garlic. I left my pieces of broccoli fairly big and I used an immersion blender to chop it after it was cooked and I chopped it too much so I didn't have the chunks of broccoli that I would have liked. Next time I will only blend about 1/2 the broccoli and then have some smaller cut pieces to keep some chinks in the soup.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I made this for my daughter's wedding yesterday and it was a big hit. I actually forgot to add the OJ at the end and only added the wine and it was still great. I used spiced rum and blackberry merlot as others suggested. YUM!
