Broccoli Rabe with Portobello Mushroom

This had good flavors but the store didn't have very good broccoli rabe or any broccolini so I used what they had but I felt like it was lacking because of this. I will try again with some good rabe or broccolini next time as again I felt the flavor was good.

Banana Split Bars

I made a pie for this since it is only hubby and I. The flavors were pretty good but I don't think I creamed the cheese enough as it was hard and messy to spread. I did think it was missing just a little something but not sure what that was. I'll go back and read other reviews to see if there are other changes I might want to make

Spicy Chili French Fries

I liked the way these tasted but have to work on getting the crisp just right. I think the temp needs to be higher so I'll try that but the taste is good.

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

Garlic Steak with Garlic

This is a tough one for me to rate and I'll tell you why. I've tried this recipe exact as it is a few times now and for some reason, I don't seem to get a good garlic taste from the marinated meat itself (have used a few different cuts as well). While I can add some of the garlic oil as directed at the end, which makes it tastes better, it seems like the marinating is extra work for not enough payback. I would prefer to cook a good steak and add some garlic butter to the top of it then go through all these steps. Having said all of this though, I LOVE this garlic oil for bread dipping. I have made it for that purpose and added herbs to it and it is amazing for that. So, I have given the recipe 4 stars because of that but I do think that others should try the full recipe version to see what they think.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Was a good easy way to cook the pork and with the right BBQ sauce it should be good (we had a sweeter kind in the house which is not normally our preferecne). I also have to turn my slow cooker up a notch or two otherwise it has to cook too long (not the recipe's fault).

Baby Back Ribs

The cooking method is what is important here - you can use anything on the ribs - sauce, dry rub whatever but they are really moist and tender cooking this way.

Beef and Roasted Red Pepper Sandwiches

My hubby is not too kean on store bought deli roast beef so I purposely bought a 4 lb prime rib and cooked it traditionally on Sunday with that being the Sunday meal for hubby and I. We made a bit extra ajus and save a good bit of the meat and ajus to make these sandwiches. On Tuesday I sliced the remaining meat as thin as I could and added to the ajus in a pan. I let it slow simmer for about 1/2 and hour and then assembled the sandwiches as per the recipe. They came out really good and was a nice change. Will make again but probably only when we do a rib as indicated above.

Marinated Flank Steak

A decent easy marinade. This is a good version for when you don't want a marinade whose flavors are too strong. It is a good subtle flavor that adds to the meat rather than becomes the flavor of the meat as with some other stronger marinades.

Jalapeno Chicken II

This was good but I used cheddar cheese instead of cream cheese since we have never liked that with our poppers. Next time I will include a bit more cheese and maybe use thicker bacon. I may also look altering the dressing or just using a good rub. Good recipe that can be modifier to one's taste.

Puerto Rican Tostones (Fried Plantains)

Well I had a bit of trouble with frying, removing, flattening and then re-frying. I'm not a co-ordinated person. BUT the plantains did come out good and made a nice side to the Puerto Rican meat patties we made from here. I gave it 4 stars only because for me, it is a lot of work.

Amazing!!!! I used less cliantro, added some sa-zon and cumin and used the frozen Goya discs. The filling was so flavorful these made great empanadas.

Baked Pork Chops I

We liked these but we do not bake with the gravy but rather just use it as a sauce at the end. This leaves the chops a little crispier which is what we preferred. The flavors of everything is good as is for us.

Habanero Heat Salad Dressing

Loved the fl;avor for this but we used as a dipping type sauce fro grilled veggies that I made. I put it on a garden salad and the taste did not seem to work all that well so maybe a different type of salad would be better. I really did love it as the dipping sauce and willmake it again for that for sure.
