Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
chops seemed a bit dry even though I out many slits in them and we weren't wowed by the flavor of the sauce.

Spicy Oven Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This was pretty good. I left my chicken to soak in the buttermilk overnight and after coatong my chicken I put it in the fridge to set for 1/2 hour or so. I would like to try again with thigh meat to see how that comes out.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This was OK but it didn't seem to have enough flavor and my chicken was actually kind of dry.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
The taste was good but it is a lot of work to roll out the dough and so my pretzels came out a bit thicker that I would have liked. I used a store bought cin/sugar mix but should have made my own. Not bad, will try again.

Libby's® Pumpkin Roll with Cream Cheese Filling

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
I was nervous to try this as I am disasterous with desserts and baking but it was actually pretty easy and tasted good. My filling was a bit thin even though I took the advise of storing it in the fridge while the cake cooled. I spread it easily enough and then rolled it and put in the fridge for another hour as instructed but my filling was still thin. I assumed I may have beaten it into submission or it is because I used the less fat cream cheese. Either way the flavor is good enough to try it again.

Baked Coconut Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
The taste of this was pretty good but for me it is too much work I'm not a very coordinated cook). I gave it 4 stats for the taste but for the work I won't bother making again.

Puerto Rican Tostones (Fried Plantains)

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
Well I had a bit of trouble with frying, removing, flattening and then re-frying. I'm not a co-ordinated person. BUT the plantains did come out good and made a nice side to the Puerto Rican meat patties we made from here. I gave it 4 stars only because for me, it is a lot of work.

Amazing!!!! I used less cliantro, added some sa-zon and cumin and used the frozen Goya discs. The filling was so flavorful these made great empanadas.

Caribbean-Spiced Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I didn't have rum and used tequilla instead and it came out just fine. I actually used a cut up chicken and grilled it when done. Good Flavors, will make again.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
I made a few mistakes with mine the first time around. I didn't plan well enough for the cooking time so when the coocking was done around 9:00pm - I let it sit overnight and because I had to work the next day I had to leave it in the fridge all day. When I cam homw, we shredded it because I also had to devide it up because it is too much for 2 people (I froze a bunch) so I think I made more work for myself. That being said, the meat was tender, and the flavors were really good. I will try again (after using what I froze) and see if I can save myself a little work.

Good - I didn't make it as a club but rather just used two pieces per sandwich and it was good. Will be a nice one for a quick something to make.

Pasta e Olio

I've made this a few times as a side dish and it has a good balance and if you use fresh garlic and let it slow cook in the oil it is really good.

Belle's Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
I did like the taste of these and they were soft but even using a bit less flour as some had noted, they were still slightly dense and not quite soft, fluffy burger rolls. I will keep for now but will try a few others as well.
