Lemon Pie Bars

Orange Vinaigrette

This is phenomenal. I use just a bit of olive oil cause I'm doing Weight Watchers, and its great that way too. This is now the only dressing my husband wants me to make.

I have never been a huge meringue fan, but this recipe is outstanding. I topped a lemon meringue pie with it and it was a huge success - I got more compliments on the meringue than the pie itself. This will now become my go to recipe for meringue!

Salisbury Steak Supreme

My family just LOVED this recipe. I have been searching for a great salisbury steak recipe for years, and this is finally the winner. I had no problems finding the soup and I think it tastes a lot better with this canned soup than with other versions that call for the powdered soup mix, so its really worth the effort to find it. Paired it up with green beans and mashed potatoes for a great family dinner!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

I was so pleased with how these came out! I made little tiny scones by cutting each scone into thirds, so I came out with 36 scones to the batch. I added lemon rind and currants and topped them with a lemon glaze and they were a huge hit! Can't wait to try some other combinations!

Chocolate Cream Pie II

We couldn't have been more pleased with this pie! We made it for Christmas dessert and it was a huge hit. I upped the cornstarch to 4 heaping tablespoons, but otherwise followed the directions exactly. We will continue making this every year!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

We were thrilled with this recipe! I'm not a bean fan so I was worried I wouldn't like this - but it was so delicious! I didn't use the beer and replaced it with 12 oz. of chicken stock, and also used chicken tenders instead of whole breasts. I was short on time so I cooked on high for a total of around 4 1/2 hours and it came out beautifully. Even my picky 1 year old gobbled it up. Also, we didn't find it too spicy at all, although we did use the "milder" version of Rotel tomatoes.

Amish White Bread

This was so delicious!! I made it with half whole wheat pastry flour and half white flour and it came out perfectly. Took a bit longer to rise than stated, but I find most bread usually does. I did not find it overly sweet at all - it was just right! We will definitely keep making this!

I made these exactly as directed and they were just terrible. MUCH too sweet to be enjoyed - and the texture was completely off - they were dense and heavy. Will never make these again!

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

This dish was delicious! I'm not a huge shrimp fan, but my husband loves them so I thought I'd give this a shot. I was thrilled with how quickly it cooked - I was in and out of the kitchen easily in 30 minutes. And the flavor was really delicious! I probably used a little extra garlic on the shrimp, but otherwise made it exactly as directed. A great meal for a busy weeknight.

Cherry Cream Cheese Pie

This pie tasted OK, it was the consistency that was the problem. Even after being in the fridge for 4 hours, it didn't firm up. It came out more like a thin pudding than a pie! I made it exactly as directed, with full-fat ingredients. The flavor was also extremely lemony - next time I might put more cream cheese in - the flavor of it was hidden behind the lemon.

Honey Bun Cake I

I was not at all pleased with this cake. If you want a cake that tastes like yellow cake mix with cinnamon swirled in, then go for this. Otherwise, keep searching. I'm not normally harsh with my reviews, but this was just plain bad. Made it in a bundt pan but otherwise followed the directions precisely. I'm used to cake from scratch, though, and don't generally care for cake mix. I was hoping it would somehow taste homemade, but was sorely disappointed.

Banana Oat Muffins

These muffins were delicious. I initially made them for my one-year-old son, but they smelled so good my husband and I had to try them ourselves. I was so surprised how delicious they were with so little sugar! Many of the other recipes I looked at had up to 2 cups! I made the following changes: used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 white, and used half oil, half applesauce. They also freeze really well - just pop in the microwave for an easy breakfast!

Fruit Pizza II

This was fantastic! I made it for dinner guests and they loved it. We all decided, though, that I should have put more fruit on top - be sure to really pile it on. I also added a jar of marshmallow cream to the cream cheese/coolwhip mixture - otherwise it tasted to cream cheesy for me - and I really like cream cheese! I could have also just added some powdered sugar to sweeten it up. I will definitely make this again using a lot more fruit!

Garlic Bread Fantastique

My family thought this made the best garlic bread we've had - much better than just the normal butter/garlic mixture I normally make. Be sure to keep an eye on the broiler - half of mine was scorched and it was just in for over a minute. After reading the other reviews I only put 1/2 tsp salt in, but after eating it I think next time I will use the whole amount listed - but we like salty things, so maybe its not for everyone.

Split Pea Soup with Rosemary

This soup was delicious! Mine came out salty because I used Better Than Boullion instead of regular chicken broth cause I was out - next time I will be sure to use the canned stuff. I also thought it could have used a bit more rosemary flavor - next time I might put in a whole Tablespoon instead of a teaspoon. It was fantastic and we will definitely be making this again!

Lentil and Sausage Soup

My whole family loved this recipe - including my 11 month old (don't worry, we didn't give him sausage). I am trying to introduce more legumes into our diet and we don't normally eat any, but this soup was a huge hit. We used regular sausage since we don't like Italian and it came out great. We ate it with multiple times and still had enough to freeze a large batch.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

This was great! I made it for Christmas brunch and it was the only dish that was completely gone at the end of the meal. I mixed it up the day before and left it in the fridge overnight and it still came out great. We did not find it too salty as some other reviewers did. I made it exactly as directed except I might have used more ham that I had leftover. This is a must have recipe!
