Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
Five stars for taste. Two stars for accuracy. Made exact recipe, but I had too much batter for 10 muffins, so I made 12, which still ran over the muffin tin and onto my oven floor. I think as written it would make14 or 15 regular size muffins in a regular cupcake pan. OK, now I'm off to clean my oven.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2009
Not sure if I did something wrong, so I gave this recipe ***, when I really want to give it one. Really bad. I followed the recipe 100%, but my topping was never coarse crumbs, it was more of a pasty batter that I just had to blob on top of the blueberries. It was so thick I could not spread it. Topping never browned, even after 40 minutes in the oven. I couldn't even salvage my freshly picked blueberries, the topping just melded into the berries. Like I said, I followed the recipe exactly, don't know if it was that I used low fat mayonnaise, but others said they did also and it turned out fine. I would not make this again, total waste of wonderful blueberries.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
WOW, really, really good. Not overly sweet. Cream cheese flavor really comes through. I used it on a 2 layer carrot cake and it was the perfect amount of frosting, well, if you consider the 4 tablespoons I ate while frosting the cake. Had to test it prior to serving, lol. Thanks for the great recipe.

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
OH SO GOOD!!!! I took other's suggestions and cut back on the powdered sugar and honey. Tastes like Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter. Can't wait to serve it with the Honey Bunny bread I purchased at Great Harvest Bread Co tomorrow. Thanks for the great recipe.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
AWESOME muffins. Followed directions exactly. They were plenty "spiced" for our taste. I did use mini choc chips, and they didn't sink to the bottom, were perfectly distributed. I had some leftover canned pumpkin from Thankgiving and this was the perfect use for it. Will be making these again and again. Oh, mine only baked for 20 minutes and were perfect.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
Awesome cake!! I took suggestions from other reviewers and baked in a 9x9 square pan for 35 minutes. My chips all sunk to the bottom, but it didn't effect the overall taste. Next time, and oh yes there will be a next time, I'm going to substitute applesauce for the butter and see how it turns out. Love the cake, but I hate the high calories.

Unbelievably Awesome Barbeque Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
We make this all the time and love it. In addition to the red onion, which should be sliced very thin, I use red bell pepper slices and black olives. When you need a change of pace from regular take out pizza, give this a try, you won't be disappointed.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
5 Stars for Taste!!! I have to admit, I was a little nervous about mixing raw eggs into hot melted butter, so I let the melted butter cool a bit before adding the rest of the ingredients. Super easy to mix up and they have a rich chocolate flavor. Mine were a little hard to get out of the pan, so next time (and yes there will certainly be a next time) I'll grease and flour the pan and see if that makes a difference.

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
I wish I could give this negative stars. Horrible. Watery. Flavorless. If you must make this, I recommend you scale it down to 3 servings so you don't waste good ingredients, like I did.

Thin Mint Crackers

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
So good - but I have a couple of suggestions. Taste your chocolate after adding your peppermint. I didn't taste my chocolate until I was working on my second cookie sheet, and I didn't have enough peppermint flavor, added more and the second sheet tastes just like Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies. First sheet is good, but much better with more peppermint flavor. After dipping crackers, pick cracker up with a fork, tap handle of fork on edge of bowl/double boiler to remove some excess chocolate. Put waxed paper covered cookie sheets in freezer before starting, helps cool these quickly. I am sure I'll have to make more of these in the next 2 days, can't keep hubby out of them. Thanks for recipe, delish!!

No-Fuss Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
Oh so yummy! I doubled the recipe and used 1 whole egg instead of egg whites and I cooked in on the stove instead of the microwave. Took a total of 20 minutes using already cooked rice that was leftover from dinner. Smooth and creamy. Served it warm with a dollop of Cool Whip. Good thing I doubled the recipe -- it was gone after everyone had a second serving!!

Loosemeat Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2006
Recipe as written would have gotten 4 stars, when you make one simple change, you can't give it anything less than 5 stars. Try this before you say, ewwwwww. Instead of water, use Coca-Cola, not diet, regular coke - superb.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
I need another * for this recipe. Suberb on pork chops, super good on chicken and going to try it on steak next. No fuss, easy to prepare and outstanding to eat. Husband asked for a straw for the left over sauce - needless to say - he didn't get it - lol.

Crazy Chocolate Cake

As another reviewer had noted, make this delicious cake with the Banana Butter Icing and you are in for a YUMMY treat. I did have to cook my cake 5 minutes longer than the recipe called for, but that was the only revision needed - WONDERFUL!!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: May 28, 2005
Let me start by saying - I DO NOT LIKE FISH!! With that being said, this recipe was SUPERB. For any of you "fish haters" out there, this is the perfect recipe to help you get those "healthy" omega 3 fatty acids, and you will not have to suffer through it. I am eating this recipe 2 or 3 times per week for health reasons, but the big bonus is that it tastes delicious. Serve it with some grilled asparagus (all from this site) and a side of sugar free jello with fruit in it, and you have an extremely healthy meal. Thanks so much for the "only" fish recipe I have ever liked.
