Lemon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2014
The cupcakes are delicious. Frosting needed a bit more sweetness so added 1/2 cup sugar. I've tried a couple recipes before with no success but this one was amazing!

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Amazing flavor. I'm on a low carb diet and dishes like this are the ones that make me feel I'm not missing on anything. Delicious. Little too spicy so will cut chiles amount in half next time. Loved it!

General Tsao's Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
Very yummy, but still not crispy enough :(. I used 3 T cornstarchfor the sauce and it was still too much. will try 2 T next time, and maybe some orange zest I think would go really well.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
It was good, needed to cook longer, though. It was like a flan (custard) inside, and my husband prefers it kind of dry, like a sweet bread. However, it was really good next morning. If I make it again, I'll add some sugar or honey to the custard, it didn't taste very good inside, unless it had a lot of the syrup.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
First time I make it. It was ok. I fried it first and then kept it warm in the oven (250F), and got soggy, I think that was my mistake. However the flavor was ok, but I'm looking for a very crispy coating and this didn't seem to be it, :(. I still will try it again

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
They were good, but it had this uncooked flour flavor. Maybe because I used buttermilk instead of whole milk for the biscuits, but I'm not sure. I'll follow the exact recipe next time.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
It was very good, but it was lacking a little more flavor. I'll use a different brand of sausage next time. Jimmy Dean didn't do it for me. Still, it was the first time I made this dish, and came out pretty good.

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Loved it!!! First time I make scallop potatoes. My husband couldn't get enough. Only changes: I added onions, and had to cook it for way longer, almost 2 hours. Totally worthy!!!!

Quiche Lorraine II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
It was good, but there was still something missing. I'm not sure what it is, it may be just me. My husband loved it, he said it was the perfect texture (used evaporated milk). I'll look for more suggestions.

Alfredo Sauce

Amazing! I feel like a chef, like a professional cook!!! My husband loved it. My 6 year old daughter (who does not like chesse or milk)cleaned up the plate! This recipe is totally a keeper. The only thing I added was some shredded chicken (I like meat of any kind). Thumbs up!!!

Shrimp Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
Yummy..... I don't think I'm ever eating out chinese again :P The only thing is that it seemed too much cornstarch, so I had to add chicken broth. Besides that it was a big hit with huby and daughter, and easy.

Rolled Flank Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
This was awesome! I'm not a really good cook, seems like even if I follow a recipe, it doesn't come out how I'd like, but this one was amazing. I just made a couple little changes. I used swiss cheese, since it was what I had, and also used ham instead of bacon. Also, I think everything is better with onions, so I cut up some, and made a bed, put the rolled steak there. It smelled incredible, and I made a gravy with the juices and the onions, and served it with mashed potatoes. BIG HIT!!! My husband and daughter loved it, even tho it was something kind of new for them. Definitely a keeper!!!
