Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Skip the beer and sub chicken broth and this comes out great. We top it with cilantro, shredded cheese, a little lime juice, and a dollop of plain yogurt (or you can use sour cream if that's what you prefer). Comes out perfect every time! My kids can't get enough.

Easy OREO Truffles

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
So easy and soooo good. Be sure and let them set in the fridge before you dip them though or you'll end up with a mess. I HIGHLY suggest using mint cream oreos, the mint just takes this dish to a whole other level.

Zucchini Ranch Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
LOVE this recipe. I've made it with and without the ranch packet and can't taste the difference. And while the name is zucchini ranch meatloaf, both of those flavors are really mild. Instead it ends up tasting more like the steak sauce you put over it. It turns out really moist and pairs great with baked potatoes and a green salad. Everyone I make it for (including those who aren't meatloaf fans) LOVE it. This one is a keeper.

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken

This recipe is one of my "go tos" when I'm short on time and need a for sure yummy chicken dish. It goes well with many different sides so it's perfect for when you need to throw together a great dinner on short notice.

Spaghetti Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Delicious and easy to make. Fun twist on spaghetti, although this recipe contains very few noodles so if you are looking for a more noodle rich flavor you may want to stick with traditional spaghetti and meatballs.

Slow Cooked Apple Brown Betty

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
I used half bread half graham crackers and thought it was great. I also added some dried cherries for a little bit of tart kick. It could have used some crunch as it all becomes quite soft in the slow cooker so I think next time I'll add a little granola to the top before serving or maybe some candied pecan crumbles.

Halloween Eye of Newt

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Fun idea! I used a red edible food coloring pen to draw veins on the white of the eggs to really make them look like eyes.

Crescent Mummy Dogs

Such a fun item. We brought ours to a pumpkin carving party and they were a hit! We used beef franks and in order to avoid a lot of grease while baking I just wiped them with a paper towel before baking. I will make these as our pre trick or treating snack from now on!

Steff's Shepherd Pie

My family LOVED this. I added some extra veggies to the green bean mix but that's the only change I made. Very family friendly.

Perfect Apple Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
My 1st try at apple pie and it came out beautifully! Many said it was the best apple pie they'd ever had! I used Granny Smith apples fresh off our tree. Knowing our tree grows them a bit tart I added 3 extra tbs of sugar and it came out ust right. I also cut down the butter to 1 tbs. Great recipe with some fresh whip cream!

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
Perfect consistency, not too sweet but just right. I used 1 1/2 cups of crisco and 1/2 cup of butter. I needed chocolate frosting as well so I just added baking coco powder to taste (about 3tbs) to half of the mixture and it was wonderful. Also note the original recipe makes a ton. You could half it and have PLENTY for a whole cake.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
I only give this 3 stars bc it is WAY too much salt as is. I doubled this recipe and used about 1/8 teaspoon salt and it was perfect. If you make the recipe as is I can't imagine it being edible bc of the salt. I would say salt to taste but your going to use way closer to 1/8 teaspoon then a half teaspoon. Other than that the recipe is really good. I used white wine vinegar instead of regular and added some dill pickle relish bc I like a little crunch in my deviled eggs. Good recipe if you change the salt amount!
