About this Cook
I'm only 20, but I'd like to think I a fast learner in the kitchen. I've been following my mom about like a lost puppy for as long as I can remember, and most of that time was spent kitchen. Though I've spent all that time helping my mother, I've only begun cooking on my own for the past couple of years.
My favorite things to cook
I'm a baker, through and through. I have no problems with main dishes, but I love experimenting with my desserts. I prefer concocting puddings and cookies and muffins and cakes with exotic, fruity and/or nutty flavors.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews
Doubled the recipe, toasted the cashews, browned the garlic in the butter first, replaced white vinegar with rice vinegar, and added about a teaspoon of cornstarch dissolved in water at the end to thicken it up. Served over warm rice and it was perfect!

Key Lime Pie VII
I'm a Miami native, and lived in Key Largo for a good while, so when I say this taste like an authentic Key Lime Pie, you can trust it's the truth! It's perfect just the way it is. I wouldn't dare try and change a thing. (Also, looking through the pics that people have submitted, I can't help but giggle at all the ones dyed green. Unless you're making this around Christmas, don't do it people. It just makes it look silly.)

Whole Egg Mayonnaise
Reading all of the other great reviews, I can't help but think I must have done something wrong. But I'm positive I followed the recipe exactly... I used an immersion blender and made sure to add the oil slowly, and the texture is perfect. No problems with that. But the taste was really plain and a little oily. I think it needs a bit more tang, maybe, to taste like store bought mayo. I'll try making it again, but with apple vinegar or lemon juice instead of white vinegar, and maybe real mustard instead of mustard powder.
