Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2007
DELICIOUS! My husband and kids declared this "the best chicken ever!" Just a side note: As I was preparing the chicken, I realized I did not have any bread crumbs, so I used crushed Ritz crackers instead.

Swiss-Onion Bread Ring

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
I have faithfully used this recipe since it first came out in the Aug 2000 issue of TOH magazine, it is so quick and easy! We love it with homemade Split Pea soup! The only modifications I made were to omit the poppy seeds and use two 11 oz (340 gram) cans of Flaky Rolls (cut each roll into 4 pieces). I also used 1/4 cup of butter instead of 6 tablespoons. I also baked it for only 25 minutes, as 30 to 35 minutes would have been too long in my oven. Thanks for the great recipe Judi!

Cake Mix Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
These are very tasty and so easy! *Tip for Canadians* I used a 510g box of Betty Crocker Rainbow Bit cake mix, which equals roughly 16.5oz of cake mix (2oz short of what the recipe calls for). This resulted in the cookie dough being too thin (it was more like a thickish cake batter and spread out quite far when baked). Next time I will either try decreasing the egg and oil slightly to compensate for the lesser amount of cake mix or I may add a little flour to thicken the resultant dough.

Jesse's Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
I couldn't find my recipe that I usually use for these, so tried this one. I agree with the previous reviews, this particular recipe is lacking something. I needed 12 to 13 whole grahams crackers (the kind you break in half), and next time I will add another 1/2 cup of butter as overall, these seemed "dry". In addition, I would reduce the heat to 350 degrees, as mine were a bit burnt at 400. Also, instead of using chocolate bars, I sprinkled some milk chocolate chips on top of the bars immediately after they came out of the oven, then smoothed them out a bit once the chocolate had melted. These are really tasty when they turn out!

Banana Cake X

A really tasty cake - will definitely make this again! We topped ours with fresh whipped cream, sliced bananas and a thick caramel sauce. Yummy!

Three Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
These are so quick, easy & YUMMY! I used 1/4 cup brown sugar & 1/4 cup white sugar (the dough seemed too crumbly with the full amount of sugar, and the cookies still turned out great with the lesser amount).

Italian Chicken with Garlic and Lemon

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
ADDENDUM Feb 27/08: Based on the prep instructions suggested by chef Anel on May 11, 2006, I have changed the rating of this recipe to 5 stars. Following those instructions, this recipe turns out perfect every time now. I keep coming back to this recipe - it is now a family favorite! Original review: For aroma this dish gets a 4 - it smelled fantastic while cooking. For texture, flavor and appearance, the finished dish gets a 2 (I averaged out the rating to an overall of 3). I'm glad I tried this recipe, but probably will not make this dish again.

Different Chicken Cordon Bleu

This is one of the best chicken recipes we have ever tried, EVER! We omit the salt completely, as it was a bit too salty even with cutting back the salt as suggested. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe!

Buttermilk Pancakes I

I've searched high and low for years to find a pancake recipe similar to what is served in restaurants (pancakes are thin, but still fluffy)...this is just what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing it!

Orange Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2003
The taste and texture of these muffins are wonderful! Instead of the full 1 cup rolled oats, I used 3/4 cup rolled oats and 1/4 cup bran. I also used a full 1 cup of orange juice as suggested earlier. I didn't have nutmeg so I used pumpkin pie spice...will definately make again...the kids loved them!
