Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
To prevent the overflow, lower your oven temp to 305. Cook the same time as indicated but you're able to fill to 3/4 full with out the lava flow. I add a tsp of vanilla and 1/4 tsp salt. Good recipe. I've made several times and they disappear fast.

This recipe was so very good. I added coco to the icing, about 1/2 a cup and made it chocolate cream cheese icing. The cake and icing received rave reviews.

Yummy, 10 min at 375 in a convection oven is about 30-45 seconds too long.

I followed the directions exactly as written but my red velvet cupcakes were brown. They tasted ok though but I wanted the impact of the red.

Pecan Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
This was a simple and yummy recipe. I as others used the small store purchased shells and tripled the recipe. When I tripled the recipe I still had more filling Han would fill 48 of the small shells. If I were to want to make 48 again I would cut the nuts to 2 cups likely giving a bit more filling in each tart and not have a surplus left over. Good tarts!

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
This is close to the reciepe ive used for years. Its a very hearty reciepe. I didn't go easy on the spices and it was a rich vibrant dish. I added another can of tomatoes and reduced it for 2 hours. No File spice on hand but it reduced well. I used spicy Italian sausage. Rather than rice I like serving on a fucili pasta. Yummy!

Lemon/Raspberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Very nice flavour after adding he juice of a whole fresh squeezed lemon. Without thy juice it my have been a little dry. Beautiful presentation using jumbo parchment muffin cups. If I were to make again I'd add the zest of 2 lemons instead of one.

Hazel's Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Very tasty and simple. I cooked as per other suggestions to cook the meatballs for 30 minutes, drained the pan and then added the sauce. The 2nd time I used extra lean hamburger and no draining required.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Excellent recipe, I've made 3 times now. I used a roasting pan 1/2 full of boiling water to cook then cover with a bowl for an hour to cool. It comes out perfect. Top with fresh or frozen raspberries and top with sauce and it's a huge hit. Thanks for sharing!!

White Chocolate Blondie Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
While baking it developed a bubble where 1/4 of the pan rose. I pressed it back down. It was dry, I think the cooking time was too long. I followed the recipe but after a few pieces I ended up throwing it out.

Good recipe. I modified as per some of the other reviewers. I used 2 cans of cheddar soup, 5 cups of noodles, 2 cups sharp cheddar, and doubled the breadcrumbs and it was amazing. I don't know if I could go back to the boxed stuff again it was soo good.

Daisy Brand Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

One of the best chocolate cakes I've ever made. Super moist and the our cream in the icing cut the sweetness a bit and made it scrumptious!! Easy recipe and quite forgiving for novice bakers.

Crusty French Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This recipe is great. I'm a novice cook and I used a bread machine with the setting of French bread just to knead the dough. I used bread flour instead of all purpose and bread machine yeast and it worked well. I made once with the bread as a full loaf and a second one divided in 2 for 2 smaller crusty loaves. Both were great. I didn't have corn meal and substituted bread crumbs on the greased pan and it worked like a charm.
